    Default RBS/Virgin One Account

    Hi,

I used to have a Virgin One Account mortgageicon and need to know where to send a SARicon to find out how much the bank charges that were applied in the 7 years I was with them amounted to. Do I send this to RBSicon who funded this, or Virgin.
    Any pointers will be appreciated.

    Hi DX
As I understood it, the Virgin One account was a current account offset against the mortgageicon. In my case the loan was £xxxx and my salary was paid into the account to offset against the amount I had borrowed. I incurred several charges for late payment which took my borrowing above the limit.

    urm...
    thats an interesting senario

    honestly i have no idea
if the charges are considered bank charges or mortgageicon charge
the latter can be reclaimed, the former not as easy anymore

I just need to know if I should be contacting Virgin or RBSicon. Not too concerned about charges at the moment, just PPIicon.

RBS I would think as from January 2003, The Royal Bank of Scotland took a majority shareholding, becoming an RBS mortgageicon brand along with Natwest and First Active.

    Hi

After a gap of 3 years I sent a SARicon and received all my statemenats. There are several hundred pounds in charges. As this was a mortgageicon account, does the 6 year rule apply in claiming charges back?

I believe that mortgageicon claims are 12 years (that's how long they can chase you for money)

If they are unlawful charges, there is argument that the clock does not start ticking until the mistake is discovered
