Hi there, just a quick query I was going to take out a dmp with dfh but don't like the idea anymore, I haven't filled in or signed any forms and am 4 days in from the phonecall, I gave them my bank card details and they are going to take £358 on 26th August, I will ring them tomorrow to say I don't want to go ahead, will they still try to take this money. I happened on them because I stressed about a credit card debt and looked for loans. I dont see how they can help me really, I have agreements in place with all but one creditor and my interest is frozen.

What is the best way to deal with this?

cancel in writting to them

tell your bank to block ayd attempt to pay them they make.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Cancel the card - don't take any chances. If they charge a fee for your DMP, find someone else who will do it for FREE - that way your debt will be cleared quicker as all your surplus cash goes to your debts. Speak to PayPlan or CCCS or, even better, manage your own DMP with the help of the CAG!

Thanks for the advice, all worked out in the end, I cancelled my card and got nothing to say I hadn't paid, sent a letter by recorded delivery and then left a voicemail after the woman tried to call me a few times. Have a plan in place with all of my creditors now, all my interest was already frozen anyway so no spending £9K just for them to do something I have already. Nothing would have lasted the 15 years they were suggesting and about 3 or 4 things will end in the next 3-4 years. So thank you for the advice, it helped a lot.
