Hi, i'm really confused, had a ccj for blackhorse, we've been paying it monthly by standing order, now we've got a letter from pheonix saying they've bought the debt and all payments should go to them ? So does that mean we don't have ccj now? and who have we been paying for the last few months as the standing order is still being paid?...utterly confused with it all :|

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

What does a left leg right leg mean? It's not a split ccj, the blackhorse ccj was taken out a year ago then had pheonix writing saying they wanted a payment arrangement ? But who is recieving the standing order ?

no certainly not.

they cant 'buy' a ccj debt anyhow.

the most important thing is you keep paying whatever judgement is inthe judgement box to whoever took you to court.

dx - sorry to hijack the thread for a minute, but is that true that a debt with a CCJ cannot be bought by a DCA? Can it be assigned to them to collect via an equitable assignment? Is there any way an absolute assignment is possible with the CCJ in place? Can I also ask where this is set out in legislation.

As I say, sorry to hijack the thread, but it's something I'd never heard before and it would be brilliant news if that is true.

Did that and could not find anything except two unrelated posts and one post that was by me! Goggled it and it would appear that they can sell on a debt with a CCJ, though you may still be right as I have not got the legislation to back this up.
