Just got back from Wellesbourne airfield as it it their annual open event to support their Avro Vulcan. Although it cannot get off the ground ( runway is no longer long enough!) it is a fully working aircraft and i watched it taxi at high throttle which brought the nose up! then taxi back to its pride of place. Congratulations to the air and ground crew whom without, would not have been possible.

 

this Vulcan is from a bygone era but does not look out of place in the 21st century. this is a picture that i took today and represents the epitome of the past British Aerospace Industry and might.

Lovely Aircraft, saw the other one at an Airshow last year do a Flypast. Don't forget the Victor bomber, they have this at Bruntingthorpe. It took off during a high speed run last year which was'nt intentional:
