An end to "stupid rules". Metro Bank: 'we'll put an end to stupid rules' - Telegraph

Are we talking about the Banking Code or the Banking:Conduct of Business rules?

In other words, will the new Metro Bank fall in line with the rest of the Banking Industry and continue to treat their poorest customers unfairly and to ignore all of those inconvenient but poorly enforced banking regulations?

Will the Metro Bank adopt the same attitude as the other banks and see that FOS as a good way of frustrating their customers' complaints?

So far all we hear is about providing a fun experience, treats for customers' dogs, toilets for customers.

Well if the Metro Bank is going to continue the long-standing tradition of having four cashier windows in each branch - but only two of them open - then I expect that Metro Customers will be very grateful for the toilet facility.

However, what we don't hear about anywhere is that the Metro Bank is going t adopt a new business model which charges people for the banking services they use - as banks do in the rest of Europe and in the way that all businesses do everywhere in the world.

Only the UK banking industry has a business model which requires its customers to fall into difficulty in order to generate 30% of its income.

This business model is against the public interest and it is madness.

If the Metro Bank had any intention of abandoning this banking aberration, it would have come out and said so now.

Instead, it is silent on any issue of real importance to customers.
