I recently sent a parcel to someone and used DHL via parceltogo.co.uk.

I paid for next day delivery, and the parcel was collected that day (Friday).

I expected it would turn up on the Monday..

It did not.

Nor did it arrive on the Tuesday..

It did not arrive till the Thursday.

Therefore I sent a polite mail to P2G saying that as I had paid for next day delivery and hadnt got it that I thought perhaps I should get some kinda reimbursement.

Their reply was somewhat less than useful. Basically they have said that it is not a guaranteed delivery service and therefore I am onto nothing.

Now I checked in their T&C and can find nothing to indicate that next day may not mean next day... so surely thats false advertising ?

I wrote them a stroppy email back and threatened them with the OFT but im just wondering if anyone knows where I stand.

(I also paid an extra £10 for insurance - which it looked like I was going to gave to claim on until said parcels turned up today ! Im wondering if in the event of a claim I wouldve been sent a lottery ticket to cover the cost of my parcel !!)

It is misleading, but im pretty sure you are not eligible to claim. Its highly likely you sent your parcel on DHL's UK Standard service. This parcel has estimated delivery times of 1 to 2 days, but these are not guaranteed.

Nowhere does it say "guaranteed" next day delivery. Thats key here.

See this a lot with parcels2go. =/

Hmm - I see what your saying about it not saying guaranteed.. But at the same time it does indicate a next day service. At the very least I would expect an asterisk or something with a disclaimer. The only thing that comes close you dont see during the order process unless you happen to click on an icon on the page. Surely it should be in the T&Cs ?

Also 4 days is a far cry from next day.

Ive filed a paypal dispute anyway :-)
