Please can you help. I have a Halifax current account and debt with a Lloyds bank credit card. Have been paying a reduced amount monthly with lower interest. Now they are harassing me all the time by phone and when I read my latest credit card statement it said that I hadn't made my monthly payment. I had but it was for the lower amount which they had agreed previously. Also on the statement was something like - Our terms allow us to transfer any available funds from your LTSB account to offset any outstanding arrears - do they mean from my Halifax Account or are they not yet able to do this. I would hate to see what money I have eaten up by Lloyds credit card. Please can you let me know what is the current state of play. Apologies if this is the wrong part of the forum, please can you move it for me if it is.

Hi,

As HBOS took over LLoyds TSB last year, I would get the hell out of there and start a new account elsewhere.

Natwest do a basic bank account wth debit card and there are a few others as well.

as above these thieves will take money from any account they hold, without telling you

The terms on the credit agreement state that they can take money from any Lloyds account but it also states that they have to give you 7 days notice before they do it. I have had letters from Lloyds to tell me that they have already taken money. I advised Lloyds that they have breeched the agreement. This continued to happen on 6 consecutive months and they will not listen. I am taking them to the financial Onbudsman now.

I had a fraudulent payment made into my Halifax Current Account for £1800, I had no part of this however, the Halifax account was frozen as was my Lloyds account although this had £5k in it (redundancy payment). It all got sorted in the end but the two banks are linked when it suits them. Disgusting behaviour.
