Hi Pauline

Thanks for your kind words.

"Do you have to keep putting in claims until you get the amount back your owed, or is there a way of claiming more than £750 in one go. "

Yes probably, unless after the first claim the bank crumble and give you the rest back.

Summary cause is the next step up from small claims. It is a little riskier, (not much as you're going to win anyway)but then it has a limit of £1500.

Next step from that is "ordinary action" and you would have to employ a lawyer, and that may cost more than your charges.

With a small claim you'd have around £750 in charges, 39 court costs and maybe around £150 in judicial interest.

And there is also talk of the Scottish small claim system being brought up to £5000 next year.

Hope this sheds a little light.

Mairi
