General - all animals and birds

The RSPCA

National charity providing advice, clinics and rescue services for pets and wildlife. Will take legal action for cases of neglect by pet owners.

If you have caught an injured wild bird or animal and ring the RSPCA, they will often issue you with a ticket number and give you the contact details of a local participating vet, who will then treat the bird/animal free of charge to you when you quote the ticket number.

Search for your local RSPCA Centre

The RSPB

Many people are quite suprised to find that The Royal Society for the

Protection of Birds do not actually take in or rescue injured birds. They will give advice, and will usually refer you to the RSPCA as above, or to a local vet.
