May be worth copying this gentleman on any correspondence you have with Halifax or Bank of Scotland. This text is copied from an HBOS press release:

"The Group also confirms that Benny Higgins will join the HBOS Board from Royal Bank of Scotland on 1 May and lead the Retail business. Benny will have responsibility for all the Group's UK Retail operations, including the UK's largest mortgage and savings brands, the intermediary business, the branch and agency network, call centres and estate agency."

It would be good practice to copy people like this on any mail and even address them in principal when sendning a letter before action. If it helps to ruffle feathers, then why not?

Given that this chappy is joining HBOS from the Royal Bank, I'd bet the mortgage that he lives in one of the nicer parts of Edinburgh or the East Lothian commuter belt, his kids go to Stewarts Melville College or another of the upper echelon public schools, and he will be based at the BoS Head Office, The Mound, Edinburgh.

as mentioned Benny Higgins has recently defected from RBS...so expect much of the same at HBOS.
