Hello all,

I've written to my mortgage company, Woolwich, to claim back a charge they made on my mortgage for a missed direct debit payment but they replied that the charge is legal as the amount they charged me (£27.50) does reflect the loss they incurred (my mortgage payment is nearly £800, I guess that's the loss they're talking about?).

My point is though that I did pay that amount when it was due, using internet banking, as I knew the direct debit wouldn't be set up on time, so they did get my payment anyway.

Have I got any ground to write them back and ask for the money again?

Thanks!
