Hi

I need some help please, BOS have charged us almost £5k in the past 2 years on one of our accounts, I sent a letter asking for them back almost 2 weeks ago and heard nothing back. Is it best to phone or send another letter? We have another account with £4K of charges in 2 years!

Thanks

It is best not to deal with the banks over the phone and to stick with written correspondence.

If you read through the FAQs you will find a step-by-step guide which tells you which letter to send and when.

Good luck!

Thanks,

I phoned them just to check they had received it and according to them no letter had ever been received at the Dunfermline customer Services address. The woman on the other end of the phone even went as far as saying that was the wrong address and tried to say it wasnt on the web.(little fibbers).

Now sent off 2 new letters for both accounts one for £4776 and the other for £4106. Fingers crossed.

I live in Scotland, if they refuse a refund, should i just start to take them to court for £750 at a time (a bit nervous about the court stuff but p'd off at the amount of money they have taken)?

  • 5 weeks later...

Hello

I need some help please, on my BOS account with the charges of 4770, i received a first offer of 568, i told them no way, then received another offer of 1705, i phoned to see if this could be negotiated and they said no. I live in Scotland, and I am pretty scared about the court thing, and 1700 is a lot of money, i dont know what to do and would appreciate any help. Thanks

Also I have another account with them with similar charges but i havent sent off a letter re this, can i do this at the same time?

Hi Sharon1

Its really up to you. "1700 is a lot of money" but then 4770 and 4106 is a hell of a lot more.

Sometimes these offers say "for all accounts" check it just incase.

Im owed £5k from this lot and also in Scotland, they offered me 1120 but i couldn't bring myself to accept so im on small claim number 1 of 7ish.

Good luck I'll be rooting for you.

Mairi

Hi Mairi

Thank you so much for your reply, its reassuring to know that other people are in the same position. I'll check the offer letter and see if it mentions for all accounts.

Good luck with your claims
