If i was you, i would fight it.

Banks are within there rights to offset debts from one account with funds from another, but if you can manage to get them to pay you by cheque, that should sort that problem out.

The only benefit i can see for you if you allow the banks to offset your debt is the fact that you will have £7K less debt, which cant be a bad thing anyway.?

totally agree

it is YOUR money they have unlawfully taken from your A/C!

what right has a bank got to decide what you do with it...none.

demand it by cheque & don't settle for anything less.

there was a very good thread on this in the HSBC [i think] forum recently.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Update!

I am going down the FOS route and they wil fight for a cheque or the return of funds to my current account only on my behalf.

It makes me mad that RBS can choose what happens to my money that they unlawfully stole.

Its about time someone made a successsful cliam for damages as this process is enough to knock years off your life.:-o

Will keep you posted!
