  1. Hi everyone, an update, as promised, on claim No. 1 The Christmas holiday period passed without incident, however, letters from RBS dated 3 Jan and 8 Jan acknowleding our letters of 4 and 21 December, both RBS letters thanking us for our patience and they are investigating and would respond as soon as possible. All well and good - wrote to RBS giving them a definite cut-off date and sent e-mail to same effect. No response from RBS, so claim submitted to the Court last week. Awaiting hearing date. More to follow as and when Tweaky

  3. Hi guys, I have a basic question on completion of the Form1/1b. This involves the name and address of the defender. The branch where in the town I bank does not have a court. The most convenient for me is in another town and county in Scotland. Do I therefore put the name and address as the Royal Bank of Scotland head office in St.Andrew Square and then in Part 7, I have included the line" the defender has a branch in (name of town where court sits) therefore is under the jurisdiction of this court. It seems to make sense to me but others seem to put their branch address on the forms. Any advice please? With reference to interest, I have calculated it on a daily basis from when the charges were applied to the date the forms will be submitted, at a rate of 8%. Any help gratefully received. Tweaky

  7. Hi everyone, here is the latest information. Despite getting the standard "get lost" letter from the Customer Relations Unit, the infamous Mr Tommy McLean, on 27 Novemeber I received a letter from the Branch manager offering as a goodwill gesture, the sum of £1430. This is 25% of the amount being claimed. Today, 4 December, sent a reply to the Branch manager decline their offer. Also sent the LBA letter to Tommy and his pals, including another copy of the spreadsheet detailing the amounts being claimed, and enclosed a copy of the letter to the Branch declining the offer. Now in "wait mode" and also about to calculate the interest I will claim when I submit the claim to the Court. Another update as and when Regards tweaky
  8. Hi everyone, my efforts so far: 12 November:- sent first letter, together with a spreadsheet detailing the charges incurred over the past 6 years, to both the Branch manager and Customer Relations. 17 November: - received what appears to be their standard "get lost" letter; charges reasonable, OFT relates only to credirt cards etc. By the end of this week, the LBA will be sent , again politely suggesting they pay-up. I'll update as and when events happen. regards to all tweaky
  9. Hi leighleigh5, I have included a link to the RBS web site RBS: Current Accounts - Royalties Current Accounts The present monthly account fee is £12. I cannot say for sure what the monthly fee was for past years but I can advise you of the estimate I used if you so wish. regards tweaky
  10. Hi everyone, I am just starting out on trying to reclaim charges back from the Royal Bank of Scotland. A letter has been sent politely asking for the charges to be refunded, however, I mentioned over the past 6 years and enclosed a spreadsheet detailing the charges etc. Looking again through links, it seems 6 years is for England, those in Scotland can only claim back 5 years - is this correct? I don't think any damage has been done as I will send the LBA and amend the claim period if I have in fact initially made a mistake. Any tips are welcomed, and I shall keep looking through various links and the FAQs to ensure (as far as possible) I "don't want to make any (more) mistakes". cheers tweaky
  11. hi everyone, I have just joined the group. I have checked the charges applied to my bank account and they exceed £5K. I think I will have to submit 2 claims. Any advice ? should they be submitted at the same time or some time apart? I intend to submit on-line claims
