  2. I was wondering if anyone has attempted too reclaim charges on (specifically RBoS but also just any..) business accounts? Are the laws the same?
  3. Hi There, I have only a few days before I am due to raise a court summons on Rbs and I'm struggling to clarify whether the 8% is included in the £1500 max for summary cause in scotland or if it is added to the £1500. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  4. How is this for a superb example of the RBS charge machine in progress. Between 31st July and 1st June, I have been hit by £270 in charges! How can this be? I hear you ask. Here we go: £40 applied to my account for going over limit once last month. This took me £15 over limit again (so looking forward to charge next month) Then, four seperate small switch transactions bounced 1. £5.00 £35 charge 2. £5.25 £35 charge 3. £8.20 £35 charge 4. £5.05 £35 charge Next two D/Ds and a S/O bounced also at £30 each, another £90 (and the best thing is, the S/O was for £20 going from my current to a savings account with the same branch. I was charged £30 for not having money to give myself £20!) So there you go 24hrs and £270 charges. Argued with the branch and got no where "we refunded charges in april therefore I doubt we can refund again." Anyway I am about to send my first small claim summons (have done all the preliminaries) so although I'm skint, I'll just add it to their bill. Its kind of like forced savings.
  5. Just thought I'd start a thread about my little jaunt into the world of consumer relations. I have just sent recorded prelim letters to my RBS branch for my royalties account, Prelim letter to Bos Credit card and a Data Protection Act request (£10 included) to an old, now defaulted RBS Credit card. For the first two I had all my statments so niether of them have had any prior warning through DPAs or such like - so lets see what happens! The old RBS card Defaulted four years ago and its still playing havoc with my credit rating - even setting up a parachute account was a bloody pain, but its done now and the letters are sent. While i'm here can anyone tell me if i'm wasting my time with the older card? I'll explain, I'm in scotland (as you might have guessed.) so i'm working to a 5 year limit. The last few months of having that card saw a minimun payment explode from about £40 to nearly £350 in 3 months - followed by a default. I'm aiming to claim back the cahrges for the card's last few months then demand to have the default removed. Do I have a chance with this or does a default have to be entirely made up of charges rather than just a contributing factor? "some's b**tards, Some's ain't. Thats the score." - Jack Kerouac, On The Road RBS - £1331 - 14 day Prelim letter sent 4/7/06 BoS CCard - £960 - 14 day Prelim letter sent 4/7/06 RBS CCard - DPA sent
  6. Hi there, I have been getting my head around the process involved for a week or so and i think i am ready to claim (about £1500 on my RBS Royalties account since 2000). I will be splitting it into claims under £750 at a time. The only thing I want to look into a bit further is the potential problem of an RBS loan I also have. I feel if the bank started demanding money back from the loan it could be seen as victimisation or a revenge tactic as the loan agreement is a seperate contract to the account and it has been maintained perfectly since it was taken out. Does anyone know the best place to get legal advice on this one?
  7. Hi there, Hope this goes well for you, strangly I too owned a small gents clothing company and a RBS account, I too found them incredibly unhelpful and various cashflow and bank problems eventually caused me to call it a day. Who knows how much my company was charged by the bank - just wish i had found this website earlier. Keep us posted.
  8. I have just started looking into this ridiculous state of affairs. I have been looking into charges on my RBS account and I am trying to workout what referral charges are. Can anyone help?
