  1. I have sent my LBA letter and I am not going to fall for this "gesture of goodwill" rubbish. Their letter also goes on to say that any charges that accrue in the future will stand. Well that means that I have to put up with any other charges for the time I have an account with them, I wont sign to that. I am going to modify the letter saying I will accept the £837 as part payment and in 14 days send the claim to the County Court!!! RBS here I come..............
  2. CLAIMING £1420.00 OVER 6 YEARS FROM RBS I THINK I AM NEARLY THERE NOW, THE BANK HAS SENT ME A LETTER THANK YOU FOR YOUR RECENT LETTER AND I AM SORRY TO LEARN THAT YOU REMAIN DISSATISFIED. THERE IS NOTHING THAT I CAN ADD CONSTRUCTIVELY TO PAST CORRESPONDENCE BUT I WOULD LIKE TO RESOLVE MATTERS WITH YOU. AGAINST THAT BACKGROUND AND AS A GESTURE OF GOODWILL WITHOUT ADMISSION OF ERROR OR LIABILITY, I AM OFFERING THE SUM OF £837 IN FULL AND FINAL SETTLEMENT OF YOUR COMPLAINT. HOWEVER, OUR TERMS & CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TO APPLY AND ANY CHARGES THAT ACCRUE IN THE FUTURE MUST STAND. I HOPE YOU WILL CONSIDER THIS TO BE FAIR AND RESONABLE SETTLEMENT AND ON RECEIPT OF YOUR SIGNED ACCEPTANCE, I WILL MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR PAYMENT WITHIN 5 WORKING DAYS.  AAArrghh what do I do I mean £837 quid is a lot of money considering I never expected to see any of it again. I am very tempted to take this amount as it is only £600 less that what I am claiming. If I carry on they may well shut my account and not give me anything. It's so near Christmas and it would mean a really good Christmas for us. But then I think of the other £600 quid they are not giving back, and whats this about future charges will stand bit I have to sign, basically I am signing to allow them to take more money from me.
  3. I have just received a letter from The Royal Bank Of Scotland in reponse to my initial letter asking for my £1420 back that they took off me. Thank you for your letter of 4th October 2006 and I apologise for any idssatisfaction caused by the application of charges to your account. We believe that our charges are fairm reasonable and transparent. We consider that the amounts debited to your account have been applied strictly in accordance with your agreement with us and our published tariff, which we are sitisfied, complies with all applicable laws and regulations. We are also committed to ensuring the transparency of the information that we give to our customers about the operation of our products. We have considered and responded to the Office of Fair Trading's statement of 5 April 2006. We do not accept the Office of Fair Trading's finding in relation to credit card fees. We are concerned the the Office of Fair Trading has publicly called into question the setting of charges applied to other products, including current accounts. The Office of Fair Trading has restricted its investigation to credit cards and made no attempt to consult with RBS or the industry in relation to other, entirely different products. Conseqently, against that background, we must differ with the views expressed in your letter and will not be refunding any of the charges applied to your bank account. Again, thank you for taking the time and trouble to write. Yours sincerely Tommy McLean Customer Relations This letter is meant to stop me but I am now going to send them the LBA letter with my summary of charges and see what happens.
  4. I AM NEW TO THIS AND HAVE SO FAR DONE LETTER NUMBER 1 RECEIVED MY STATEMENTS FILLED IN THE SPREADSHEET AND ABOUT TO DO THE PRELIM LETTER. HOWEVER I AM UNSURE IF I SEND THE PRELIM LETTER TO MY BRANCH OR TO THE ADDRESS I USED TO GET MY STATEMENTS. I have read as much as I can but cannot find any info on where to send it.... Can anyone help, I think it's the same address as I used for the statements but if it's not I don't want my letter thrown in the bin. I am absolutely disgusted with the banks for ripping us poor hard working people off!!! Your money is safer in a bank huh not likely, at least Dick Turpin wore a mask!!! I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW I GET ON P.S. I'M HELPING MY SISTER PUT HER CLAIM IN TOO BUT SHE'S NOT ONLINE...
  5. Ok I am new to this and I am fighting the Royal Bank Of Scotland. I have done letter 1 and got my statements and they did not even send a letter back with them just a pile of crapply packaged statements. I have used the spreadsheet and they have taken from me £1500!! What I am unsure of is do I send letter number 2 the prelim letter to my branch or to the address I used to get my statements? I remember the time I rang the branch after I was charged £90.00 for 3 direct debits for no more than £30.00 total were not paid saying to them surely these charges are not fair and all they said was " The computer charges them auotmatically there is nothing we can do" THE LYING edit ******** How can these banks get away with charging £30.00 for the unpaid direct debit then another £28.00 at the end of each month because I went over drawn by 28 pence!!!!! LETS GET THESE BANKER edit EDITED due to libelous wording.
