  1. You know I am almost tempted to send them an invoice myself for wasting my time
  2. Last week I parked at a car park I have used over a dozen times over the past year. It is one of these car parks where you can ring and pay for the parking via debit / credit card. So I arrive at that Car Park and call the number enter the location code and confirm that I have paid parking for 24 hours. I arrive back at the car park and there is a Parking Fine on the window for £50 due to no payment or ticket on display. So I call up my bank and they tell me yes the payment has gone through, go home, check on line and the parking company has my car parking paid for on thier system and I get a text message the next day saying that my parking is about to expire and would I like to extend. So they have made a mistake big time in giving me the ticket, so the question is what do I do, should I just ignore it as they have made the mistake? I am quite tempted to do nothing and make them waste their time chasing me and sending letters just to p@ss them off :grin: So what would you do in this situation?
  3. Have a look at this site - FlyerTalk - The world's most popular frequent flyer community this kind of thing happens all the time. As soon as the card is debited and the e-ticket issued they have to honour the tickets.
  4. I think this may be a Ford thing, I went for a test drive for a Focus a few weeks back liked the car but told the salesman I would have to go away and think about it. Anyway, a newer model at another garage and phoned the dealer out of courtesy to say I did not want the car and thought that was the end of it. However, two weeks later, if the post arrived the log book for the Car with me as the new owner!!! Did think about going to the garage and demanding the car as I was the regestered ower according to the DVLA. The most frightening thing though was when I called the DVLA to let them know I have never owned the car, they told me that as the regestered owner of the car I was liable for any fines tickets etc until I sent back the documents and they changed the log book!!
  5. Bookworm - This also drives me mad and trust me I have seen a lot of it over the past few years. Bill - I have just sent you a PM
  6. To be honest I think you will find it is Apple are the problem here, my Ipod broke down within 5 months of purchase and I had a right issue trying to get it sorted. I found out from my local Apple dealer that they don't repair your own Ipod, they just send you out another refurbished model. Trying to get hold of Apple is a right royal pain also, your best bet would be to look in the phone book for your local apple dealer and give them a call.
  7. Glad I could be of service. I have seen too many people be caught out when they try to claim.
  8. Trust me it is always better to tell insurance companies everything. I have heard stories of claims for cancer being turned down because someone did not disclose a totally unreleated back problem. If in doubt tell them anyway, most of the time it does not affect the premium that much to be honest.
  9. I work for an insurance company and let me give you a little bit of advice. The chances are that if he wants a life policy he will have to fill out a medical questionaire. Make sure he puts everything down about his medical history and family medical history. Otherwise this is known as non-disclousre, a lot of insurance companies these days may not ask for a medical when taking out the policy and will not even request a doctors report at the start, however, if a claim is made, then they start looking into the medical history. If there is something mentioned on your medical notes at your doctors surgery that was there when you applied for the policy and you have not mentioned on the original application, the claim will be rejected and there is very little you can do. Hope this helps.
  10. Could anyone please give me some advice. My other half purchased a Second Hand Mini Cooper for £8995 in the middle of June for a local car dealer. This afternoon we had some mechanical problems with the Gearbox, now the garage give a 30 day warrenty on the car when it was bought, but as we are outside that now, I was wondering if the sale of goods act covers us? From what I can gather, goods have to be fit for purpose for a reasonable amount of time after purchase. Would you class 2 months as a resonable amount of time? And should we expect the garage to pay for the repairs? Thanks Anthony
  11. Don't know if this will help, but have a look at this site HolidayTruths.co.uk - Holiday Chat, Holiday Discussion, Photos, Reports, Reviews it is similar forum to this for travel. They have a lawyer there who deals only with travel complaints and encourages people to contact her free of charge for help. Good luck. Anthony
  12. Chris, I have been following your story from the start and just want to say how much I admire what you are doing. Someone has to stand up to these bully boys and it looks like you could take them to the cleaners. I am speachless at the your visit to your local council, and I think you were very restrained, calm and collective (much better than I would have been). Good luck in the next stage of your fight!!!!!!
