  1. Thanks both of you - we had accepted an offer from the agent who stated they would market our house for £XXXX but not any any specific selling price. You have put my mind at rest and once again thank you.
  2. My house is on sale with an estate agent. The sales contract specifies a fixed fee upon completion. If I alter the selling price will I be in breach of contract?
  3. On holiday recently another motorist told me he was the main driver of his and his wife's car and he was the policyholder (in his name) for both vehicles. Would I have to earn ncd from zero on my wife's car to do the same?
  4. My supplier is charging me an electricity day rate tariff of 47.90 p/kWh? I understood the cap is set at 34p/kWh. Any advice would be most welcome.
  5. I used Packlink with the intention of sending some jewellery, sold on eBay, by Royal Mail Special Delivery but the printed label and tracking details could not be scanned at the Post Office. Packlink state my issue is with Royal Mail to refund the cost of the label, and not themselves. Surely under the Consumer Rights Act they are liable as I bought the service from Packlink? I pointed this out to them but they keep replying that they do not deal with RM!!
  6. Many thanks to Emmzzi for the link to Gov.uk which certainly clarifies my question - to me it feels as if the UK is about to grind to a halt with such huge numbers off work because they have been pinged, but I now realise it's the summer and many will simply take advantage of time off particularly if they are going to get something!
  7. I read that yesterday over 619,000 were pinged by the NHS app. The newspaper stated that over 1 million were now isolating because they had been pinged. Are these employees entitled to SSP if they report they have been told to isolate?
  8. The neighbour uses an air rifle but many thanks to Ethel for the regulations, I will confront him after filming him using the gun.
  9. For the record - I'm not killing the wildlife, it's my neighbour whom I tackled about it. His response was that he was within his rights to shoot what he described as "vermin".
  10. Does statute permit or forbid this activity in English counties? Are homeowners lawfully allowed to shoot and destroy pigeons and grey squirrels?
  11. Our property is currently listed with an agent at an amazingly low commission rate. They found a buyer but the property we wanted to buy fell through. If our buyers pull out because we are unable to find a suitable property in the current property climate and we ask to be remarketed with a higher selling price, is the contract with the agent still intact?
  12. Could care workers who refuse the vaccine face dismissal? Would employers have grounds to dismiss on the grounds that cared-for clients would be at risk? On a similar note, would a carer be acting within their rights to refuse to attend to a client who had not taken up the offer of a vaccine? Interesting times ahead?!
  13. I paid the deposit on a holiday park break by credit card, the balance being due in 10 days. The break is for late June this year. I have some doubts the park will be able to offer full access to their facilities to include entertainment centre, bar, swimming pools and restaurant given the effects of Covid 19. What should I be doing once the operator requests the balance and would appreciate your advice. Thank you in anticipation.
  14. Just to let all or any interested parties know - my former employer agreed to settle in order to avoid a tribunal!
  15. Many thanks dondada. I have appreciated your helpful comments and advice throughout.
