  1. Thanks very much fkofilee, will have a wee read of that now. No idea why it ended up being passed to them but it was only 30 odd pound, kicking myself now for not paying it!! Oh well at least it'll be gone next year. @dx100uk I was young and obviously didn't care! Also didn't know CAG existed at this point. Soon as I saw this earlier though I immediately thought about you with your "they are not baliffs and have zero legal powers" posts everywhere! Wish I had known this back in 2013.
  2. Hi, I've been looking through my credit report and have realised I have 2 'settled' accounts, both with defaults registered. One is with o2 and another is Lowell (an o2 account!) - I've emailed both companies to try and see if it's the same debt or not! I don't ever remember having 2 phone contracts out at the same time... Am I correct in saying only 1 of them can register a default if they are the same debt? The o2 default was registered September 2014 & the Lowell default was September 2013 - both completely different amounts. My question is - if those 2 defaults do happen to be unrelated, they will drop off my credit file after 6 years. Does the whole account drop off my credit file too, or just the default? I'm confused because although the date of default is there, my payment history still shows the default until the account was partially settled. Lowell account end date is registered as 11/02/15 Does this mean there will still be evidence of the default and 'satisfied' until 6 years after that date, or will it disappear after 6 years of initial default? ] Defaults.pdf
  3. Thanks for your help fko, I emailed Sunny, Wonga & Payday Express as those were the ones I borrowed the most from. I've received the standard "we are investigating your complaint, please give us 8 weeks" response from all 3. I then thought I may aswell try and get a refund from My Jar so I emailed them asking for SOA and made it clear I was looking to make a irresponsible lending complaint, I got a reply the following day (27th March) with the attached. They said they are looking into my complaint and to give them 4-8 weeks. Not expecting to get much back from them and wasn't even going to bother, but better in my pocket than theirs eh? All but the last loan are past the 6 year point so reckon they'll only offer a refund for that one (not sure if second last loan counts? repaid date is just under 6 years but date I took it out was over 6 years) Account Summary MyJar.pdf
  4. The main companies I have borrowed from are Wonga, Payday Express & Sunny. I've used several other companies but those were just for the short term as they obviously declined any further loan applications due to them being a more responsible lender.. so I'm only going to chase the 3 named above. I went through all my Wonga emails and have listed every loan I took with them, the credit amount plus the fees and repayment dates. I'm certain there are a couple of late fees which have been added on top of this but I'm willing to drop those so haven't included them in the spreadsheet. Payday Express - I have used my bank statements and listed every transaction in & out of my bank account. The last loan (& last 2 payments) were from Pay Day UK so unsure if I can get that back, though I do understand they are both part of the same company. My first loan I received from Payday Express I had to roll over several times before paying the full amount. Sunny - Again, I have listed all transactions from my bank account and added the total. I'm not expecting that exact figure back from all the fees and interest but surely it can't be that far off it? I understand the first 2 or 3 loans aren't necessary irresponsible lending though they should have really seen I was paying other loans off at the time of applying. 5. Wow, that's a long guide. Thanks very much - I'll have a read tomorrow morning after I've had a decent sleep. Will keep you up to date with how things are going and be sure to post any questions I have. I will definitely leave a donation once all this is over with Thanks again.
  6. Thanks for your reply! That amount is just Wonga alone but with other companies I reckon it's closer to 6k. I've just managed to stop taking out loans with Sunny aswell - I've also e-mailed them. I've worked out I've paid them £2300 in interest & fees from September 2013 to February 2018 so I'm going to see where I get with them.
  7. Hi, I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anyone has successfully claimed a refund for irresponsible lending, even if it was over 6 years previous? I've e-mailed a complaint to Wonga as I was taking out a loan month after month from May 2010 - June 2013. The majority of loans I had taken out were on the same day as the previous loan was repaid - usually in the region of £500. I made a spreadsheet with dates my loans were taken out, credit amount, amount repaid, total in interest/fees and dates I repaid them. There were 3 occasions I had to set up a payment plan and the day the final payment was taken, I had taken out a new loan with them. The total I had paid in interest and fees is a staggering £2563!! Around the same time I also had several other loans with other companies - one of them with Payday Express which was around the same timescale as Wonga and it was again month after month, I haven't yet worked out how much exactly but have sent them an email aswell. I'm aware the majority of cases on the forum were within the last 6 years but can anyone tell me if I have a good chance of getting some money back although it started 8 years ago? I've read a thread from a few years ago and saw some people were offering excellent advice (fkofilee being one of them) so thought I'd write a post and see what advice I would get.
