  1. I took out a telematics policy with Bewiser.I've never used them before. I asked them to send the device to a different address as I'm rarely at my home address as it's being renovated. They said they'd do this, but didn't. I do have a Royal mail redirection service, but it doesn't work half the time, and indeed the device was not redirected. May 6th at 11am I receive an email telling me the insurance has been cancelled by them as I haven't connected the telematic device. I got no warning of this-I assume they should have emailed me to say I had ,say, 2 days to install it or my policy would be cancelled? last year I had the same situation with another insurer, and they did give me notice, so that was ok. I was able to install it in time and the policy wasn't cancelled. I was 70 miles from home, and use my car 90% for work, when I got the email. As I was driving, I didn't see the email til 4 hours after it was sent, so I was unknowingly driving without insurance for 4 hours! I immediately phoned their customer services, but could not get through despite trying for 2 hours! I emailed them many times , asking for them to reinstate the policy.I have never heard back from them. So I had to abandon my car 70 miles from home, causing me enormous inconvenience.I then had to go get it after having to sign up with another company, due to bewilser not getting back to me about reinstating my policy. I lost 2 days work ( I run a mobile visiting service), and they are keeping £75 of my premium for admin!! I have written claiming damages. I know they won't pay, so next week I will take out a civil claim against them.
  2. I'm almost certain it was a 70mph area. I always thought you could do 70 mph + 10%.Over that and you get prosecuted.
  3. I was on the M25 with a police car behind me. He pulled me over and said I was doing 80mph, and that he was wearing a bodycam to prove it. Is the bodycam proper evidence of speeding? He said he was going to report me for the speeding, but he didn't issue a ticket of any type. Was he winding me up, or can I expect a summons to drop through my door? If it does, do I have a defence?
  4. I had an accident at a VERY slow speed (about 5mph) in my local petrol station. I was reversing into a petrol pump place, and a black taxi drove forward into me. No damage to either vehicle, but the cab driver is claiming personal injury. This smells to me, and I think he's a fraudster. my insurance co say it's my fault - I would argue it's 50/50 as he should have seen my reversing lights and stopped moving forward. I exchanged numbers with the driver he only told me it wasn't his cab, but he was a friend of the owner of it. He gave me his name, but i didn't get ID from him. How do I know the person who's claiming is the actuial person who drove into me? Maybe this guy wasn't insured to drive the car? Also, I noticed the back bumper of the taxi was hanging down, and was secured by a seat belt tied round it. Don't taxis have to conform to strict legal obligations as to the state of the cab - was this cab roadworthy in this condition? I've asked my insurance for a copy of the driving license photo of the claimant to make sure it's the same guy, but they have refused to provide it. Any advice?
  5. stayed in a decent 4 star hotel with my wife. I woke up to find my leg covered in bed bug bites. They definitely weren't there before! My wife was not bitten I complained to the hotel, who say they got a company in to check for bugs. They've come back to me and said the company found nothing. I don't accept this at all. I think they're denying it as they know if they admit it it would look very bad. I want a full refund on the room cost. Are there any other amounts I can claim? As they won't voluntarily refund, is it worth suing them? I'm familiar with county court proceedings, and feel I have a cast iron case (i have photos of the bites).
  6. Land rover main dealer had my car to do a service. They were supposed to have it overnight, but heard nothing from them the following day.I tried calling them but couldn't get through to anyone. Now I know why..spoke to them today and they admitted they had an accident in it. They never informed of this, so I don't know what damage was or how it happened. They say they've nearly repaired it. obviously they have waived service fee, but I must be due to compensation as: 1. I didn't have use of my car for a lost a week, and lost work as I coudln't attend my customers. 2.they have been negligent with my car, and didn't inform me ( I may have wanted to get it repaired at my own garage) what do i do?
