  1. You're right - sometimes I'm mind-blowingly stupid!!! I can see that the attachments are "pending approval" - but I can't see how to delete them and start again.
  2. Hello again. Here are the photos mentioned in my previous post: Photo 1 is where I parked. On the photo it's a completely empty and unmarked space; however; on the day (just before Christmas) this area was full of parked cars. All cars were parked neatly, in rows - and not causing any obstruction. I was on the end of the row. Photo 2 is a view of the 'parking rules' notice in the area where I parked. Photo 3 is a close-up of the 'parking rules' notice. Even standing up close it was very high for me to read (I'm 5'2"). There is a rule that cars cannot park in unmarked bays - but, without standing on my tiptoes and putting on my reading glasses, there is no way I could have read this when I entered or parked in the carpark. I'm sure it's no defence; but on the day it was dark, with torrential rain - so nobody was hanging around reading all the carpark rules! Photo 4 is an indication of exactly where I was parked in relation to other vehicles. photo 4 - my car position.pdf
  3. Hello all. I have now received some rather worrying correspondence concerning my parking offence in Iceland's carpark (December 2015). The original company that issued the parking charge notice was Vehicle Control Services Ltd. They have now passed the matter onto BW Legal - who have sent me a Final Notice for payment. Attached is all the correspondence from both companies, plus a copy of the original PCN. I've also attached photos of the carpark (unfortunately I didn't take one on the day I received the parking charge - I just didn't think of it). PHOTOS TO FOLLOW IN NEXT POST BECAUSE I CAN ONLY UPLOAD 5 ATTACHMENTS. Photo 1 is where I parked. Do I continue to ignore all the paperwork, do I pay, or do I wait for the threatened court proceedings? Thank you in advance for your advice.
  4. Hi. Apologies for my late response (Christmas got in the way). I can confirm that the company name is definitely "Vehicle Control Services Ltd" Vehicle Control Services is an accredited operator and member of IPC. The 'offence' listed on their ticket is "Parked in a Restricted Area of a Car Park". Having given it some thought, I think I was probably parked in the turning circle for delivery vehicles. So I guess it's a 'fair cop' (it was totally innocent though; I had no idea it was a restricted area). On their ticket I am given 21 days to appeal or challenge their notice. (So this would be 11 Jan 2016). I have a receipt for my purchases from Iceland; so at least I can prove I was there with good reason. Based on the advice I've received; I think I'm going to sit tight and see what happens next.
  5. Hello. Earlier this week I went to Iceland (Sheffield) to do an emergency last minute Christmas shop. I parked in a sensible position (in line with other vehicles, not causing an obstruction). To be fair, there were no marked parking spaces, but I (foolishly) assumed that it was simply because the area had been re-surfaced. 30 mins later I emerged to find that myself (and everyone else parked equally sensibly in the same area) had received a ticket from Vehicle Control Services, Sheffield. The fine is for £60 if paid within 14 days, or £100 or court action thereafter. I surveyed the area. It being a few days before Christmas, the whole car-park was bursting at the seams with cars queueing for spaces. To make it worse; the rain was lashing down, and so it was difficult to see the "parking restricted areas" signs in the area where I parked. (Nice small font, and no chance of me reading them from any distance). It says there were four of them, and I have no reason to disbelieve this. On the ticket it says that my car is filmed, but that the driver was not present. However; the Vehicle Control Services car was there when I returned to my vehicle; so it's feasible that they could have actually filmed me as the driver too. What do I do? £60 is a huge amount of money for a struggling single mum, especially at this time of year. But I'm nervous about ignoring it - because, to be fair, in hindsight I shouldn't have parked there. I can see 'old' forum threads advising to ignore the fine and all further correspondence; but maybe the law has changed since then??? I don't want to risk at greater fine, or court action. Any up-to-date advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
