  1. hi bazooka, my uc stopped when i started receiving my state pension and they just stopped taking the repayments back till now just over 3 yrs later they send me a letter.
  2. hi all, iv just received a letter from dwp about what i believe to be an advance payment for uc i had in june 2018. i think the sum was £600 of which i paid 4 monthly payments of £50 from my benefit. i started to receive my pension in nov that year and it seems no more money was taken so they are saying i owe £400 to this date. am i still liable for this amount after over 3 years ago. thanks.
  3. yes craig. the option on the phone.(thinking of leaving virgin media.)
  4. tried that on the phone can get it cheaper with sky. they dont want to know.
  5. iv been a customer of virgin media for the best part of 15 yrs. i reached the pension age last year when my bill was £28 a mth. it has now gone up to £37 a mth of which they said they can give me a £2-50 loyalty discount. my loyalty discount was about £7 before but cannot have that now. a new customer can get it for £30 at the moment for 12 mths then £37. i know of cheaper options but don't know what they like. any recommendations out there. i just need the broadband not the phone line. thanks bob.
  6. hi everyone. my 6yr old granddaughter has just been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. she needs 5 injections and about 6 blood checks daily and a check in the night. as you can appreciate this is all new to us, but someone has mentioned that my daughter could get help with DLA and possibly carers allowance. could anyone advise please. thanks.
  7. hi all, i am on here asking for some advice for a friend. he bought a renault traffic auto van just over 4yrs ago new. 1st year the g/box played up when it kept jumping out of gear. he took it back and they said it was the clutch in the box and repaired it.? ever since the repair it used to judder on pulling away which has gradually got worse..last week he broke down in london and had to be towed back to renault..when they looked at van and plugged in to machine they said they THINK it is the clutch because all his fluid had gone but can't be sure.the price for this job will be £2075 of which they wanted 75% up front. after doing the job they phoned to say it was done but had not cured the problem and they now THINK it may be the robotics which they cannot be sure until they change at a price of £2060. the van is 4 1/2 yrs old and 6 months out of warranty and has done 58k miles.meanwhile he is renting a van for £250 a week of which he has had for 2 weeks so far and it looks like renault want the van for another 2 weeks also. any advice on this as it don't sound right to me.
  8. hi all, we took that route with the vf rep but settlement figure was not acceptable. what lowell are asking for now is a figure of £198 for a contract that was used for about 6 wks with nothing but trouble and being fobbed off by VF. even had phone changed at apple because they said it was the phone and it wasn't. i think daughter is going to offer then £10 a mth. will see what happens. gripper.
  9. it was a contract that she had no joy with regarding no signal and being cut off when you rarely got one. all made known to vodaphone where they said they tried everything and it wasn't them, also had phone replaced by apple. simply put the signal was crap and number not been used at all. regards bob.
  10. so do you think the best thing to do is pay up on this one. thanks.
  11. hi all, daughter just received a letter from lowell who say have taken over the debt of an unpaid vodaphone bill. have read on internet that when they do this the debt it extinguished, is this right or how do we stand. regards bob.
  12. hi all. this is ongoing and was being sorted out by the vod rep lee. cutting the story short there were 2 contracts taken out by my daughter and my wife, who both had the same problems. my wife who had longer left on her contract got a settlement figure of if she remembers rightly was about £108. my daughter is being asked for £227.88 which we don't think is fair. s o it won't be paid. if it was around what my wife paid then not a problem. gripper.
  13. the bottom of the letter where it is signed says [email protected] so i assume its ardent credit. gripper.
