  1. To Mosh and Scaniaman Here is an update concerning the ongoing saga with Arnold Clark. My MP has written to OFT. A David Kennedy from (OFT) phoned me and I am waiting to hear from him. In the meantime, AC wrote to my MP and attempted to fob them off by repeating what they said to me. The person dealing with my case from my MP's office, is on holiday but will contact me next week on her return. She is Parliamentary Assistant to Bill Esterson, MP. Sometimes I think its going in my favour and other times I wish I could close the matter and be in peace. Be in touch. ladycoke
  2. Hello themiz You are absolutely wonderful! I have just followed your guidelines and I was called back within seconds. Amazon are sending me details of the name of the courier who will come to collect the Dyson and Amazon will be processing a refund today. God bless you. I wish all my problems could be so easily resolved. Thank you - Thank you - Thank you Regards ladycoke
  3. Hi themiz Thank you so much for this information. I will use the link you have provided and follow your guidelines. Let you know how I get on. Thanks again ladycoke
  4. They pressured me into paying the deposit with a view to purchasing the vehicle. I couldn't stop coughing and I was feverish. I explained I wasn't feeling very well. I never asked and was never told that the deposit would be refundable. From my experience with the car I bought recently, the same principle was applied, namely 'give us a deposit'. I thought this was the new way of buying a car? Regards ladycoke
  5. Hi Sailor sam I originally phoned them to arrange the test drive. However, because I was so ill I sent e-mails (3). Not one has been replied to. I am much better now and will write to them but I think this will be a waste of my time? Regards ladycoke
  6. On 27 February this year I booked a test drive of a VW Beetle Cab at Preston Motor Parks. My health was very bad which I thought was as a result of a cold. I was unhappy with the deal they were offering. Unfortunately, I paid £100 deposit. The next day my health deteriorated and it was pneumonia. I e-mailed Preston Motor Parks and told them I wanted to cancel the car. I asked for my£100 deposit to be returned to me. They refused to reply to any of my e-mails even after threats of the small court. The paperwork given to me does not even have my personal details such as address, etc. I thought this would be a simple matter but I now know the world of cars is a minefield. Can I get my money back? Any help would be much appreciated Regards ladycoke
  7. :???:I bought a Dyson DC24 a couple of years ago. After less than one year something happened and the brushes stopped turning and it lost suction. At the time I was in the process of move house so I left the hoover and moved. 6 mths ago I bought another Dyson DC24 from Amazon. The same symptoms have occurred! Has anyone encountered this problem before? I am wondering if it is a weakness in the machine! Does anyone know how I can get the matter dealt with? I am finding it impossible to acquire a contact number or address for Amazon? If 'no', is it possible for me to contact Dyson direct? Please help ladycoke
  8. Hello Mosh Thanks for your message. I am doing the same. My MP has just asked me for permission to write to AC, which I gave. I have today received a second letter from AC in response to my plea for another car. Once again they have refused. I am also waiting for OFT to get back to me. Lets keep on fighting AC. Some body, some where will eventually hear us and do something for us. As big as they are, as the saying goes, the greater the fall. Be in touch ladycoke
  9. Thanks Blacknight - its good to know all the options. ladycoke:-)
  10. To all having trouble with AC. I have just received a response from AC. They do not admit liability, they are saying the car was never in an accident, either before or when in the care of AC. As a gesture of good will they are now agreeing to repair the sill under the passenger side. Could this be their way of saying sorry? Should I take this matter further or just get the repairs completed and put the whole sorry business to rest? Regards ladycoke
  11. Hello Conniff - I do not like using PAYPAL or I would certainly give a donation. ladycoke
  12. Hi scaniaman , So glad you had a good break and such an informative one too. I have received e-mail from Cit. Advice. They are putting my concerns to Sefton, Liverpool OFT. They say I should write to AC as there could be 2 points of law with my concerns: a) they misled me to believe that they were VW second hand car dealers when they ARE NOT and b) and there could be a point of law if they sold me a car that may be dangerous. I have had the car checked by VW themselves and they seem to think it is NOT dangerous. I sent my e-mail direct to MP Bill Esterson. He did not respond personally but his Parliamentary Associate did and she has passed my comments to one of Bill Esterson's case workers. Are e-mails treated differently to letters? Would he not do the same with a letter? I have written to AC and have received an acknowledement letter from a Graham Barrie, Customer Services apologising on behalf of MD and looking into the matter. Regards ladycoke
  13. Thanks a lot for your comments blackknight. I usually pay £160ish for MOT and full service so I thought this was excessive. It did include brake fluid. I will try rubber lube as you suggest but I really think it is more than that. Thanks any way for getting back to me. ladycoke
  14. I drove my Mitsubishi Colt Cab to the above for a full service and MOT. They charged me approx., £232 which I thought was exorbitant. However I paid it. 3 days later I noticed the passenger window was sticking, and would not open and close as it should. I took it back to the garage and the Mgr said there was nothing he could do as the service does not include electrics. This could have been coincidence - what do you think? ladycoke
