  1. Thanks for the pointers everyone, it's a bit of a long winded process and it's easy to get discouraged. Just have to focus on getting my hard earned cash back off the robbing swines! The LBA went off recorded delivery today, I'll keep you all posted!
  2. Hello all! After some procrastinating I got round to sending off my S.A.R - (Subject Access Request), and got back my statements (eventually!) Spent a night going through the statements and Halifax have charged me just over £2k over the years! (On my main account, credit card and other current account to come later!). I sent off the prelim letter asking for the money back and got back another seemingly standard letter explaining why I got charged, the OFT guidelines on charges quoted do not apply, the charges are to cover "additional work" carried out, basically they decline the "complaint" and will close the file in 8 weeks. My question is, does any of this hold water? This kind of response threw me a little, but didn't exactly surprise me knowing their record! (And they probably intend to throw people off as much as possible.) Should my next plan of action to be continue on the usual route of the LBA then making the court claim, possibly with a few phone calls to twist their arm a little and see if I can make them be a little more forthcoming with the payment? Glad of any advice at this decisive stage!
