  1. Hi, There seems to be two slightly different issues emerging here; 1) the company are trying to find was not to pay out in respect of your claim 2) they are then saying they will cancel/not reinsure you in the future. In respect of (1) you honestly disclosed all information that you knew at the time of taking out the insurance. The insurance company accepted you on that basis. Your insurance is valid and so is your claim. Any matters raised after the fact, unless it can be shown that you acted dishonestly, will be irrelevant. In respect of (2) as the company are providing a service/product it is their prerogative to withdraw that at any stage, this will not affect the validity of your prior claim for when you were insured. A well worded letter from the Citizens Advice Bureau should do the trick.
  2. Unfortunately the answer is yes, you have 'accepted' the offer made by your previous employers. You need to remember that ACAS are, in this case, mediators. As such it is their responsibility to to pass on all communication, not matter how manifestly unpleasant or unfair it is. They do not represent one side or the other but 'referee' cases to try and induce some fairness. However, there may still be an argument that this deadline was manifestly unfair and unreasonable given the timescales and the issues involved. However you will need to speak to a specialist (direct access) barrister in order to explore the exact timing of this and possible ways forward.
  3. I would advise you to contact the Citizens Advice Bureau first thing in the morning and make an appointment to see an adviser. There will be a specialist benefits adviser you are able to see, but anyone initially will do. The benefits sections are renowned for using sledgehammers to crack the smallest of issues and there are strict laws and policy guidelines on what they can do. The CAB will have this immediately to hand. This is important, it won't wait until Thursday. All the best.
