  1. Hi I am looking for information held about me from social services before and after I was adopted. I was adopted in 2007 when I was 9. I was adopted along with my 2 brothers. I understand there may be implications for access to data relating to either of them. Is it as easy as sending a SAR's to the heads of childrens and families in the area I was from and the area I was adopted to i,e Inverclyde council and South lanarkshire council. Any help and advice is appreciated. Both my birth mother and adopted mother now have dementia so the option of asking either is no longer an option. Thanks NJ
  2. Hi Andy They currently deduct £40.00 per month from my Housing Benefit. Thanks
  3. HI Any advice appreciated. I received housing benefit overpayment and agreed to repay £40.00 per month. I have recently received a letter stating that they will no longer accept £ 40.00 per month and I have to pay £90.00 per month. I can't afford this, despite advising them of this they seem to be unwilling to accept reduced repayments. I have stated clearly that as working single mum this amount is no where near affordable. How can I proceed with this? Thanks
  4. Hi Thanks for reply Even though the debt is deed, when will it be removed from my file if the debt/ loan shows active, not defaulted? Or does it just remain on my file indefinitely showing as an open active account
  5. hi Yes im in scotland and took the loan out whilst in scotland thanks
  6. Hi and Thanks As soon as I lost my job and couldnt repay I contacted them from the date of the last payment until feb 2012 requesting they stop adding charges and interest when they knew i was unable to pay...to no avail... Thanks
  7. Thanks for responding So am I wrong in thinking that once a debt is statute barred or 'extinguished' it will be removed from my file? Is this wishful thinking? If neither of us have acknowledged it in 5 years can they legally pursue us/me and can they legally keep the account as active on my file? Thanks
  8. Hi Just a little advice please, or a lot of advice, any advice in fact is of course appreciated and I thank you in advance. I'm clueless; I have a loan with FLM which is now Amigo, the last time I made a payment was Oct 2011, the last time I contacted them was Feb 2012. This was a guarantor loan, the guarantor has never paid or contacted them at all regarding the debt. The account is still active on credit file, there is no default and it shows as 6 payments missed despite there being 73 missed payments inc Jan 2017. Is this statute barred, should it say defaulted, will this continue to be open and active on credit file? Should I contact them and offer them a reduced final amount in exchange fro the account being closed and settled or.....?? I have recently returned to work and I am beginning to finally get all my affairs in order and it's a bigger minefield than I thought..... I have a few other debts that show as having default dates in Jan 2012 and Feb 2012, do these debts stay on my file, do they affect my credit score and if they do what should I do about these? Cheers Jac

  10. Thanks for replying I got another account but what do I do about this 1? just let them apply charges until they stop and then chase me via a debt colletor? Is there anything I can do?
  11. Hi Despite notifying Lloyds that I was experiencing financial hardship they keep applying charges upon charges. Two months ago they charged o/d interest from the previous month which resulted in my account being 38pence o/d. Now its £174.00 o/d solely from charges and interest from the 38p. At the time I contacted Lloyds to explain that I wouldn't be able to credit the account until payday almost 3 weeks later and by then i would have accrued more charges so please could the 38pence be voided leaving my balance at nil but they replied that due to a previous good will gesture/charge being reversed they couln't do anything. Where do I go from here? Do I just accrue hundreds of pounds of charges on charges originating from -38p which was from a charge thanks
  12. Hi I let my flat out for 12 months last year to a friend of a friend who towards the end of our tennancy agreement left to go 'travelling' without paying her electricity bill. Obviously I know now that I should have switched to a pre payment meter for the duration of her agreement. When she moved in she organised a switch of supplier to her name and I foolishly thought that any arears if any would be her responsibility and have absolutely nothing to do with me. Now that shes gone and im back home npower wont allow me to switch supplier unless i clear the debt in her name which im refusing to do but in the mean time they are supplying the electricity to a property that is mine to a tennant that no longer lives here? Please advise In gullible and naive frustration x
  13. Hi Im sure I checked for ppi at the time and it wasnt included but i got so stressed I honestly stuck my head in sand so i dont know..... Unlawful penalty charges, I dont know what they are and what constitutes 'unlawful' but I have just been reading old emails and checked credit file i'l assume that yes charges have been added to the account; credit report- balance 07/2011=£3300 I made 4 payments and balance on 12/2014=£3746? on credit file since nov 2011 until dec 2014=38 months all the months just have a red box for 6 payments or more late its not defaulted or been passed to a debt collection firm, theres been no contact from them but they have updated file every month is this normal? What do you mean reset the SB clock? What are my options if you dont think this will improve my situation?? Thank you, any advice appreciated
  14. Hi and thanks for getting back to me No I haven't contacted Amigo yet because even typing their name sends shudders.....for months I got bombarded by txts emails and letters and then they must have realised that I really couldn't or wouldn't pay anything to them after my job loss, the last I heard from them was an email in 2013. I have been working for a while now but its only now Ive cleared my feet and can focus on improving my credit status, so I looked out the 'old debt' file and wondered who to contact the 'Harvey sturrt' or 'FLM' or???? in a mess already
