  1. Sent the standard letter requesting a refund of £270 for charges on my credit card, within 1 week I had a response saying that they were offering a good will refund of the full amount, and they deposited the full amount to my credit card on the 8th Day. Surely the quickest turn around yet:D I am currently midway through court action for my bank account, again its for a relatively small amount, this time £272 plus costs and interest, so probably £350ish, im guessing that they notice that im serious and its easier just paying the money. Great success:!:
  2. Have been away on holiday, so a bit behind with this case. I have been sent a letter, it says im getting nothing back now, not even what they offered. I now have to take them to court, im based in scotland, so cant use MoneyClaim. Has anyone done this in scotland, if so, can you give me a few pointers;)
  3. Finally received a letter from them offering me £68, which is exactly 25%. The letter is long winded, and basiclly says, we have incurred costs, and need to pass these on, its your responsibility to keep your account in good order, we can close your account etc etc. Seems like a bog standard letter to me:mad: I am not accepting that amount, so will contact them and confirm my LBA still stands, and that they have 2 weeks to refund the costs in full, or we will be going to court:)
  4. Was originally sent a letter saying they would get back to me within 4 weeks. I cant believe that 4 weeks has passed since I sent it, I was prepared to LBA them after 2 weeks, where did the time go:? Sent them the LBA yesterday, will hopefully receive a letter from them soon
  5. Wondering if anyone can help me, I know its not really what this forum is for, but it couldnt hurt asking I am 27, and owe, through my own stupidity I must add, about £20'000. Its split between a loan and a credit card, about £10'000 each. I cant afford to pay this debt off, and even with a trust deed, I dont think I would be able to afford it. I am considering going bankrupt, but have some issues with it.... 1. I still live at my parents home, as I cant afford to move out. 2. I have the exact same name as my dad. Can anyone answer a few questions I have.... 1. If i was to go through the bankruptcy procedure, would my debtors have any claims on my parents bought house, or anything within? 2. Would it have an adverse affect on my parents credit rating? 3. Would my parents have people turning up asking for goods to the value of? I really have nothing to show for the money, I blew it when I was at uni, I deeply regret my actions, but im struggling to cope with this now. My parents have no idea of my problem, and wouldnt be too happy if it was made public, dont get me wrong, we are normal working class people, and I cant ask them for a shot of £200 let alone £20'000. I am getting help from CAP, but I dont like asking for bankruptcy advice from them, its humiliating enough being in debt, let alone asking to go bankrupt. They have set me up in a way that I pay them £120 a month, and they split it between my debtors, but I cant see this as a long term answer. I am toying with the idea of disappearing, what would happen if I did that:(
  6. overdraft interest is justified, so you cant claim for that
  7. you got £1400 back, and saved futher hassle, dont think you can be blamed for taking the offer, well done:)
  8. received a letter from the bank today, it says that they are looking into my issue regarding the charges, and that they will respond to me within the next 4 weeks:rolleyes: Will wait and see what happens now, although I dont think 4 weeks is reasonable, maybe wait the recommended 2 weeks then LBA them;)
  9. Sent of my request for full statements and asked them to explain the charges, received the info back within 2 weeks. Have calculated the total, and in 5 years, its only £272, not as much as most people on here, but its better in my pocket than theirs:) Will be sending the prelim letter later today requesting a full refund. Hopefully it will soon be with me:D
