  1. I'll see where it goes. If it's just the one email landing in my junk folder then I'll ignore. If I get letters or phone calls I may think about action. Thanks all.
  2. Guess who's back, back again, Harland's back, tell your friends... Received this email (in my junk folder appropriately) dated today 14/02/2018 "Hello ****** Your file has recently been returned to us by our external agents. According to our records, you still have an outstanding balance of £206.49, in connection with Harlands. Please call us today on 01444 449165 between 08:30am and 6:00pm to discuss repayment of your balance. A payment plan can be set up if you're unable to pay the balance in one go. Your reference number is ''''' If you would prefer us to call you, please confirm a suitable telephone number to reach you on. Many thanks, Rob Avery CRS Collections Manager"
  3. Just got this from them. I'm thinking I should probably reply? 4. So out of the blue I get an email from the 'Zinc Group' addressed to my OLD address which is actually the address BEFORE the one I used to sign up at the gym... "Welcome to the Zinc Group, we have been instructed by our client to assist you with the resolution of your account. We would therefore like to invite you to review the options we have made available to you as a priority customer, these have been designed to make the process as simple as possible while ensuring that you have full control of your circumstances. At Zinc we understand that not all of our customers are the same, but we are committed to treating all of our customers fairly." With a current balance of £170.49 which is different to the £172 requested when this all started : / Probably just going to ignore it. I don't see why I should have to run around sending letters etc when as far as I'm concerned it's done and dusted.
  5. I doubt I'll hear from Harlands as they don't have my new address and the Royal Mail forwarding service ended this week. I think the gym were pretty clued up; it sounded like they'd dealt with them before. They said ignore anything I may get from them : )
  6. Result. Paid the gym direct and they said they'll go and tell Harlands to do one (although not in those words)
  7. I'm not in a position to pop in or phone but I still have their email so I have just asked them if I can pay the month I owe
  8. 1. Who is making demands now. - CRS Credit References Service 2. What gym is this. - Gymworks 3. When did you give the gym notice to cancel. - 22nd Jan 4. Did you cancel by letter or email; in person or by phone. - Email. Their email back to me said they would serve a one months notice but I'd already cancelled the DD. I never heard from them again until today when a letter dated 22nd April was redirected from old address. 5. What was the final DD pay't date you were told. - 1st Feb I'll hold my hands up and say it was my mistake for cancelling too early and will happily pay the outstanding £18 for that month. Also, at the start of your reply you said to give Harlands my new address but then at the end you said to ignore them... should I contact them with my new address or not and what should I say? NOTE: I was on a non contract monthly membership. EDIT: Did some searching on here and found one of your template letters which fits my situation exactly. Should I just go with the below, tailored for my exact situation? Dear sir or madam, I refer to my membership at xxx I cancelled my direct debit because I was moving away. I emailed the gym and cancelled my DD I now realise I should have made one final payment for the Feburary payment and offer to pay this to you now. I will not pay you any administration or cancellation fees that you are asking for as these are penalties that are unlawful and unenforceable. If you confirm in writing that you'll accept the amount of £xx.xx in settlement of all that I owe, I will pay you promptly. If you fail to accept my offer within 14 days or you demand any other payment, I will pay you nothing and my offer will be withdrawn. Yours faithfully,
  9. I'm in a similar situation. Contacted my gym to cancel and they said the final payment would be taken on X date but I'd already cancelled the DD and moved house and now I've had a letter saying I owe them £172. Interestingly, it says 'despite previous letters' but I have not had any however, this could be because I have changed address and the letter was redirected to my new abode. Should I just do the same and write to them and offer them the final DD payment? Or if I've changed address, should I just ignore it altogether?
  10. I'm going to give them a call this evening. I'm worried that they'll quote all sorts at me as I'm not really that clued up on this kind of thing. All I want is an accurate energy bill using accurate readings from 26th May 2010 and accurate readings taken on 15th June 2011Why is it so hard?
  11. Hi, Thanks for the reply. I'll contact my bank regarding chargeback.
  12. Hey guys, I was told they wouldn't accept readings longer than 12 months ago by literally the first person I spoke to when I called their number. She then tried to get hold of someone higher up but no-one was available so I was advised I would be getting a callback which I have yet to receive. And it really is as simple as incorrect start readings causing the large bill.
  13. Hello, We received a £2600 energy bill from npower covering the last 8 months after providing them with current meter readings. Having checked our records we found that they had incorrect meter readings from when we first moved in (last June). Taking into account the correct readings from last June until now, the bill should be somewhere in the region of £750 given that we already paid £250ish last September.. HOWEVER npower are saying that because the original readings are over a year old they can't adjust the bill, so the original bill of £2600 still stands and we have to pay it. I say this is insane. I also say we would have noticed a lot sooner had they sent out quarterly bills (which they say we were down for) instead of waiting 8 months between bills. Thoughts?
  14. Hello, I ordered some Nike trainers online and they sent me an incorrect pair that I suspect may be fake as the items arrived from China (had I known that was where they were coming from I perhaps would not had ordered them). I have emailed the company and they sent me the following after telling me that they had sent my pair to the wrong person: "Dear Paul: thank you for your letter. We have contacted with the another customer who received your boots, she decided to keep the boots as the international shipping is very expensive, she may sell the boots to her friends or relatives. So we hope you can keep the boots too as the international shipping is really deal. When you buy one again, we will give you 20% off." I find that completely unacceptable and suspect they are just stalling and playing along with no intention of sending me my trainers or giving me a refund. I paid for the items via my Natwest debit card and I'm now concerned that my card details are out there. Does anyone know how I go about raising a claim with Natwest/Visa to get my money back? Regards, Paul
