  1. Hi Skyehigh1, Here we go again they wait 30 months to sort out your problem but as soon as you highlight it on this forum they cant wait to help you sort it out. Aviva have another complaint in the daily mail today 28/3/12 in which another unhappy customer wrote to both the chief executive and the chairman of Aviva and was completely ignored by both . The financial mail get involved and they are tripping over themselves to sort out his problems with his pension payments - read the full story at the daily mail on line. Some people are very happy with Aviva though - Eight bosses at Aviva Recieved a 5.2 million windfall in bonus shares yesterday. Keep us informed as to how your claim progresses skyehigh 1 - As the firefighting has now started it will be interesting to see if you get your claim finalised.Good luck.
  2. hi skyehigh1, Do what I do and tell everyone you know not to insure with them its amazing how quick the word spreads.I hope you get your final settlement - its sounds like you have been treated in the same abysmal way I was when I claimed.
  3. Hi Dav1988, I would like to think you are correct and they are changing their ways but having dealt with them and experienced the underhand tricks they tried on me to avoid paying my claim I think its more likely to be a pr exercise because of all the bad press they have had recently. Its very easy to lower your complaints to FOS you simply pay out the claimants who you know are going to take this course of action, remember probably 95% of people would walk away before this point so we dont actually get the true figures of how many complaints they have recieved. The reason I post on the subject is because of the abysmal way I was treated by them when I had a claim. If I hadnt taken them to court I wouldnt have got paid out its as simple as that. I will keep posting on any other Aviva stories that appear in the press but if like you suggest they could have changed their ways i wont have anything to write.
  4. hi Dav1988, I stand corrected on this one until i have time to check the relevant details for myself.Still an abysmal record for all the companies concerned. Aviva have had a lot of bad press lately so my guess is this has been taken into account and complaints are being headed off before they get to FOS.I shall do some research on this and if anything interesting comes up i will detail it in this site.
  5. Hi steady LL, As people are told to have their claim number handy when ringing ,and are then asked to enter this by the automated system I can understand your frustration at not being able to get through.Abysmal service as usual. Isnt it strange that when you ring to renew and pay your premiums that system always seems to work perfectly.Maybe they should install the same system on the claims line. I had the same problem with Aviva you call to pay your premium ,2 rings and you get an answer - you call about your claim and you spend 5 minutes listening to piped music or are put on hold - strange that !
  6. Aviva- The insurance company with the most complaints to the financial Omnbudsman - The Daily Mail (www.thisismoney.co.uk) investigation into the dis-picable case of mis-selling of an annuity to 80 yr old pensioner Mr Hensher has now resulted in an investigation by the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission in which the case was re-opened.Tha case was uncovered as part of wider investigation into how some greedy banks and insurers were boosting their profits by praying on the sick and elderly. Aviva had ignored the protests of the family and refused to pay back any of the £500,000 invested by Mr Hensher in an annuity - in what Robert Ried a financial advisor for Syndaxi said was one of the worst cases of mis-selling he had ever seen. In an embarrassing climb-down Aviva has now been ordered to repay the money back to the family.Read the full story at www.thisismoney.co.uk the story appeared Feb 8th 2012.How do they sleep on a night ?
  7. hi prefuse, Sorry to hear about your accident. If you want to know where your car has been taken together with other relevent details its very easy to find out.Although Aviva dont make you aware of the fact you can carry out a subject access request which costs you £10 and they are legally bound to forward all the relevant paperwork, e-mails,phone call recordings etc to you within 40 days of recieving this. If you want to know how to do this look at my previous posts or request it from me and I will list all the details again.Rest assured your car will not have been released from the garage without supporting paperwork and Aviva will be well aware of where its location is otherwise they would be liable.
  8. Hi TinaCH, Aviva support are fire fighting again - I had a claim and they didnt want to know, they tried every way possible to wriggle out of paying out ,I had to take them to court to get paid in the end. I did a subject access report which i still have and they lied through their teeth to me to avoid paying. A friend of mine also had a large claim with them and they were a nightmare to deal with same scenario they like taking your money but run a mile when you put a claim in. Do what I did Insure with the NFU or another reputable company. Great to see them spending millions on tv trying to attract new customers its a shame they cant look after the ones they already have.Read my other posts to see how they treated Mr Henshaw an OAP.
  9. As I expected still no answer to my question to Aviva with regards to the blatent case of mis-selling of the annuity to Mr Hensher.I think from that we can gather that no re-payment has been made to the family (unless Aviva wish to advise us otherwise). I will of course be keeping readers up to speed with any more interesting newspaper articles regarding Aviva - the company with the most complaints to the financial omnbusman
  10. Although this is Aviva's questions and issues column and it is actively monitered by Aviva its seems impossible to elicit an answer from them on anything. So for one more attempt - the question im asking is - Has Mr Hensher's family been reinbursed for what was a blatent case of mis-selling ?
  11. I hope everyone reads this story and takes it into account before deciding on which reputable company they want to use for their insurance or annuity requirements. If you read my other posts you will see the battle I had to get paid out on my legitimate insurance claim with Aviva so I have every sympathy with the family of the old man and hope they get back every penny of the money. Aviva - The company with the most complaints to the financial omnbudsman - I wonder why ?
  12. An interesting story in the daily mail (money mail ) today Dec 14th 2011 with the above headline. Its a very interesting story for anyone thinking of investing for their old age with Aviva - The insurance company with the most complaints to the financial Omnbudsman. In this case Aviva pocketed £485,000 of 80 year old Mr Hensher's annuity investment after he died of throat cancer only 5 months after being diagnosed and in fact he never recieved a penny of his annuity. Robert Ried a leading financial advisor for Syndaxi financial planning said it was one of the worst cases of mis-selling he had ever seen. Mr Hensher's family are now locked in a bitter battle with Aviva to get back the 100's 0f thousands of pounds they feel has been wrongly snatched from them.If past records are anything to go by they certainly have a fight on their hands ! Read the full story at www.thisismoney.co.uk - As i have stated in my other posts 'if this is what you have to do to get money I dont want any ' - how do they sleep on a night ?
  13. A warning to owners of small businesses that deal with british gas.I recieved a bill to my home address for £85.00 no details of the property concerned or any details of what the bill was for although it was not a domestic bill. I rang British Gas and asked them the address of the property and where they had got the figure of £85.00 from.Turns out the bill is from 11 years ago for a commercial property I now own but bought about 6 yrs ago. Obviously British gas are sending out these bills in the hope people will pay them automatically without questioning them even though it is obvious the money is not owed. The previous owner would have been registered at this time and no doubt he will have recieved a bill as well. They once sent me 2 bills for £6000 total although I only actually owed and payed them £90.Pure gangsters avoid them like the plague !
  14. Hi hard, Keep us informed how you progress with Aviva support goes as it looks like the fire-fighting has begun. No more calls to india or unanswered E-mails for you,it looks like you could possibly get your Refund.I wonder if Aviva will be refunding all the other customers who have been charged for paying by credit card ? Good luck I hope you get back what you are owed.
  15. Hi Jose, Write to Aviva at the following address with a recorded delivery letter - The Data protection Team,Aviva Insurance UK ltd,Level 2,Pitheavlis,Perth,PH2 ONH and ask for a subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act 1998.You will have to pay £10.00 for this and they must send you everything you request in 40 days this should include copies of all phone calls, internal memoes, mail between Aviva and your broker etc and everything that is relevant to your case. Once you have this I wouldnt bother with fos i found them unbelievably slow and not much use,I personally would proceed to County Court and issue proceedings. If you do this remember to claim for all your relevant costs ,ie cost of phone calls, letters, your time for the same and interest on the money you are owed. Good luck i hope you get back the money you are owed and read my other postings for more details of my claim with Aviva.
