  1. Sorry it's been a while coming back. Appears it was a refund of over charges when overdrafts were forcibly reduced previously. So no big refund for the main account as that overdraft wasn't reduced
  2. No! Letter on its way evidently and relates to interest and charges between May 2007 and August 2016. Am more interested as this was on a small account and my main account could be more interesting.....
  3. Anyone else had a surprise credit to a Barclays account today entitled "Arrangement refund"?
  4. I have had similar problems but came to an agreement for monthly payments. However, I recently missed a payment. I have just checked my credit file, and they have logged a "loan" to them complete with payment history. Can they do this, if they are acting as debt collectors? Thanks in advance for any help.
  5. I had dealings with this mob, and eventually spoke to a woman who was sympathetic, understanding, and accepted my offer of £25 a month, which is all I could afford. I owe the money, so want to pay it, but at levels I could afford to pay. Unfortunately I didn't take her name. It took me 9 months to get to this point. I had previously had threatening conversations, and loads of messages / emails. They could have had over £200 back by now, if they had not used their ignorant, bullying tactics. The debt is originally from Quickquid. I'm paying by standing order, so it is under my control.
  6. Received a similar response from our first letter offering £12 (total refund request was for £123). They say we were only due £3, as there was one charge of £15 and the rest were £12, but were offering £12 as a gesture of goodwill. However we wrote regarding the Debenhams account (since repaid and closed), and they responded re an Asda account which is still up and running. They have credited the Asda account with the refund. We're now going to issue the second letter, add interest and query why they are reffering to the Asda account.
  7. Have a payday loan debt which has moved to them, and have written offering a small monthly amount which is all I can afford. I have received the copy of loan agreement and email copy of debt assignment from the payday loan company. Few questions: Why not sign the letter? Their latest letter says full payment or court for CCJ. Does anyone have experience if they can / do get a CCJ? I acknowledge I owe the money and want to pay it, but just can't at the moment. Thanks for any help.
  8. In response to the comment from a poster further up, I tried to negotiate with Quickquid direct, but they wouldn't accept anything but full payment. Can anyone help me with next steps?
  9. Hiya. Would really appreciate some help! Had loans with Quickquid and Poundstilpayday. Defaulted on both, dealt with Clarity who have been civil, and accepted £25 per month stepping up by £5 a month at regular intervals. Had a bordering on abusive conversation with Mackenzie Hall re the Quickquid loan. Offered £25 a month as that is all I can afford, and kept going round in circles that they wanted full amount. Following some advice from here I wrote to them asking for a copy of the debt assignment, and received the email below: "We hereby give you notice of the assignment of the debt due to us in respect of the outstanding balance on your QuickQuid loan. Current amount outstanding: xxx This assignment is effective immediately and is entered into between CashEuroNet UK (operating under QuickQuid brand) and Mackenzie Hall Debt Purchase Limited. Mackenzie Hall Debt Purchase Limited will be contacting you directly to introduce its services. All future enquiries and payments concerning your account should be directed to: Mackenzie Hall 58 Portland Street, KILMARNOCK, KA1 1JG Email: [email protected] Phone: (+44) 1563 554 788 Sincerely, Pete Ng, QuickQuid Collections Department 0808 234 4561 [email protected]" I have since received a copy in the post of the original agreement with Quickquid. Should I now be dealing with Mackenzie Hall? Will they take me to court? I want to repay this, but can only afford £25 a month. Should I now be writing with this offer and first payment? Please help. Am worrying myself sick!
  10. Anyone with recent experiences? I have received the email and telephone message from Mackenzie Hall, called and explained that I can only afford a minimal monthly amount. I have been questioned as to why I took the loan if I couldn't repay it, and have been threatened with CCJ, followed by attachment of earnings or baliff. Help!!
