  1. That is my intention I wrote to them giving them further opportunity to put things right. The letter was sent recorded and they signed for it on the 21st so I know they got it. I plan on sending them LBA on 4th Feb - this will have given them 14 days from receipt of letter to contact me with solution. I dont want to seem that I am rushing to court even though this has been outstanding since 23rd Dec! And I have no intent in using them again - They were my go to guys for courier and have spend £££ with them over the years - no more!
  2. I have dont have any copies of the messages I have been sedning them as you have to go through a contact form on the website so no sent copies other than a confirmation of a message being sent and a reference number. I did email them on an email address they gave me to send pictures of the items in one of the last mails from them but this email address either ignores me or replies stating the following "If you have a query in regards to Ipost Parcels please visit our website http://www.ipostparcels.com , log into your account and submit a contact us form. One of the Ipost Parcels team will then respond to you. This email has not been actioned." Just going round in circles with them! I have a copy of the letter I posted to them, and proof of it being signed for - I also have all their replies so far There have been no phone calls to them as they do not provide a contact number!
  3. I have used ipostparcels many times in the past as their local depot is about 10 mins from my house so I can drop off there. No problems up until December! I sold a UPS via ebay and posted the item to the buyer on the 12th December. Thought nothing of it as never had problems before and use them fairly regularly. Buyer emailed me on the 23rd to say not received, and can I investigate. True enough the tracking was showing as "at delivery depot" and had been since the 13th. It was due for delivery on the 13th as was paid for next day delivery and dropped off at their depot on the 12th. I informed ipostparcels on the 23rd of the problem and chased again on the 30th when no reply - got a response asking for a description etc, which I gave and they said they would search the depot. Nothing from them again until the 5th Jan with me chasing them - told they had heard nothing from the depot but would ask for the search again and let me know. Nothing heard from them again and regular emails asking for an update, then asking them for compensation as I am taking their silence as its lost. Nothing. No more contact until 16th Jan - this time asking me for the description again and photos etc before they can pass to claims dept! I replied saying they have had the description previously and the value etc. I didnt take a photo as didnt think it would go missing! No reply since. On the 16th before I had these emails I decided to write a formal letter to the address provided on their website making a complaint about how the whole thing has been handled and again asking for compensation with a warning that while I hope things can be resolved I would take court action if unsatisfied. I enclosed a copy of the sale details to show cost of item lost and description etc and also included th original invoice from themselves showing that I took out their extra insurance to cover the value. As of today I have had nothing - not an email back or return letter acknowledging me. I sent the letter to them recorded so know they got it - singed for on 21st Jan. What can I do to get my money back? I have had to reimburse the buyer for the item lost and now out of pocket by the value of the item lost and the refund! Ipostparcels seem to care not one jot about upholding their end of the bargain and refunding me the money even though I have done everything I should have within the time frame laid out in their T&C's As a side note they have deleted all my many previous orders and consignment history on my account on their website - almost like they have wanted to hide the purchase? Everything I posted with them in the past is gone, searching brings up nothing! I posted loads in December with them - about £600 of goods in total and each and everyone of them has gone from history - wiped! They have also changed the tracking info of the lost parcel to "Delayed" Fed up now - im thinking this may need to go to small claims court...
  4. Thanks for that Thats a very good booklet - depending upon the results of the diagnostics today if the car is going back on Saturday I will be printing some of those pages of to backup my case that THEY should be repairing this not forcing it to be done by the less than adequate warranty cover they provided...
  5. Problem is that the alternator for this model and engine is dealer only - Cannot be purchased from a car factors and no re furbisher I spoke to has ever repaired them. There is a component in them that is proprietary apparently and the ECU controls it. Dealer or salvage unit it seems! On that note I am on the hunt for a salvage unit should it prove to be that to get it sorted......
  6. Good Evening, I am having a few issues with a car I bought on the 26th August It is a 2009 Vauxhall Insignia 2.0t 4x4 SRI Picked up the vehicle from the trader at approx 5.30pm on the Tuesday evening, drove it 75 miles home and all seemed well Wednesday evening on the way home from work in it a message appeared on the dash stating "service charging system" and illuminated the battery icon Arrived home and turned off and then back on and the message had gone - oh well I thought, will check that later Thursday morning and evening on way to and from work the same thing - message appeared - Decided would look at the battery at the weekend as possible worn as per other cars I have owned Friday Morning same thing again, except this time it started throwing all other error messages and illuminating all other lights as it steadily shut down all non essential systems - pulled over and turned off - car dead, no attempt to crank, nothing RAC called and got car started via boost pack and attached multimeter to battery and diagnosed possible alternator fault as reading were 11.3 -11.6 volts - keeping the booster on the car managed to get it to local mechanic Mechanic tested the alternator which seemed fine and was outputting the correct amp on the bench, but will not charge battery in car. Took it to another mechanic who has better diagnostic kit and will run some tests on it tomorrow to try determine what the fault is Car came with a 3 month RAC warranty, to which I say isnt worth the paper its printed on! There is a £300 limit on the repair, including parts/labour & VAT! The alternator is dealer only and costs £523.81 inc VAT! I rang the dealer to tell them about the breakdown to which they said I have to deal with warranty - I stated the warranty is not sufficient and they are required to put it right. After days of chasing them they are saying they can supply the part, should it be the alternator cheaper than I have been quoted, to which I stated they must be quoted for the wrong part as I have been quoted the same from 3 different dealers and told the same amount by all three! They said they will check and let me know - that was Tuesday evening. No word today. I am now waiting for the diagnostic report - if it is something simple and cheap I dont mind paying to get the car on the road again, but £540 + labour is too much after just 170 miles!! I just want advice on how I can approach this with the trader - they seem adamant I have to use the warranty, which I dont want to as they will not cover the whole amount. Dependant upon the outcome of the diagnostic I will be taking it back up there on Saturday morning, and demanding they fix it. Should I take a formal letter with me stating they must repair or refund me? Not sure how to tackle this one to be honest! Sorry for the long post, just wanted to get as much info out so can get the best advice possible
  7. I know what you are saying - My partner declared herself bankrupt in 2010 and Vanquis were the only people who would provide a card to her so didnt have much luxury of choice That being said she has now got a better card that she intends to use as a stepping stone onto better ones still - the APR is much lower at 35% - so she is on the right track - just need to get rid of these theives now! What is a PDL? Not heard that before?
  8. Thats what I thought also They frequently add deferred interest charges to her account, which they fail to explain properly - she did manage to get them removed the one time by ringing them up and kicking off at them They try to explain this by stating the 52 day interest free period at the start of a purchase, when it doesn't get paid they add the first 52 days interest to the balance as "deferred charge" That in itself sounds dodgy to me, as other cards have this period also but I never get this charge on my cards, just they usual monthly interest after the period is over Anyhow - that still wouldn't explain two months interest to be added still!? Surely once the balance is paid its paid and interest cant be applied? especially after two months? Why would they not just apply it in the months there was a balance? This whole company is so underhanded and sneaky it is unreal.
  9. Hi, My other half has a Vanquis card that she was using to build her credit rating Long story short she was paying off a £1700 balance at a whopping 60% APR!!! After finding out she was paying at least £100 a month and accruing £80ish interest a month I have loaned her the money to clear the balance off and she will pay me the £100 a month instead She rang up to clear the balance this morning, which she did, but when she said she wants to close the account the agent told her she is unable to do that as she still owes two months interest on the previous months balance?! What on earth is that about? Is that legal? How on earth can someone owe two months interest on last months balance when above and beyond the minimum payment has been made each month and never missed? I feel they are making it up to stop the closing of the account, which is damn cheeky seeing as they have just received £1700 in cash!! I have no doubt the sneaky ****s will add a "deferred interest charge" to the account for something like £160 - though I am sure this isnt right or legal! The balance has been paid! Is there any advice out there for this?
  10. Apologies, the link was timing out for me at first and I didn't know what the link was toThanks
  11. Is there a particular way I should offer a F & F to them, considering I have not contacted them previously, nor been making payments to date? I want them to understand I will not be paying monthly, so it would be a settlement or nothing. As for following through with payment, I would be doing so if they accepted, no worries there
  12. Good afternoon, I am considering making a Full & Final settlement proposition to the DCA on a debt that was originally an overdraft from Barclays. The debt is currently with Lowell Portfolio, and the total debt is £650 The default was logged on my file on 28/10/2010 and was originally by Barclays, but after Lowell got the debt they also logged a default for it, which I had to contest with the CRA in order to get Barclays to remove their default as Lowell as new owners had added one, which Barclays eventually did. Anyhow, I got the odd letter from Lowell, threatening various things etc, then got the "solicitors" letters which then turned back to Lowell letters etc. Most recent letter is one saying they are about to pass it over to ScotCall as of the 18th April, but can still communicate with them till this point. I am fed up of these letters, and know that scotcall do doorstep visits which I want to avoid as don't want them coming round when im not there and my partner and 18 month old is. So this is why I am considering writing to Lowell offering a F&F of approx. £200 as that is all I can realistically afford, as I am not in a position to make monthly payments to them, and ideally do not want to even acknowledge the debt unless it is to make this F &F and get it paid up and satisfied. What do you guys think I should do, and do you think they will take £200? Thanks in advance
