  1. You cant fault her loyalty, I mean, the extremes shes gone to to ensure Johnson the corrupt incompetent liar doesn't stand out alone and head, shoulders and buttocks above all others as the worst PM in UK history. - presumably paving the path to his imminent return with the new slogan 'could be worse, could be Truss'
  2. They've hired a barrister to 'investigate' and declare read is innocent of all charges - and the board and the guv business interface 'shareholder' who seem likely (IMO) as guilty as sin have come out of the woodwork (must be crapping themselves) claim they have full faith in this guy who has presided over the biggest scandal and miscarriages of justice in UK history “Following several interviews and examination of documents by the barrister, Nick has been exonerated of all the misconduct allegations and has the full and united backing of the board to continue to lead the business,” They did take the time to chide staunton for leaking details of the “speak up document” they wanted to keep hidden seems to me that anyone who gives a shred of credence to this whitewash attempt is beyond stupid. Post Office chief Nick Read cleared of misconduct in separate inquiry | Post Office | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Existence of whistleblower allegations added to scandal over Horizon computer system Needs: "“It was fine when the Post Office brought private prosecutions. 3. So, we understand that the bill is likely to be a billion quid - dragged out until its due for taxpayers under the next labour guv - and we understand that Fujitsu should pay a large chunk into that - but what about all the board members paying from their unjustified profits ? At least half their salary and all their bonuses, plus jail time seems a minimum to me. The Post Office scandal will cost the taxpayer £1 billion WWW.THELONDONECONOMIC.COM Kevin Hollinrake said the people responsible for the Horizon scandal “should go to jail” during an interview with the BBC.
  4. Dubai is experiencing major flooding as 1.5 year’s worth of rain just fell in a single day.
  5. Can someone clarify the difference between 'National Conservatism' and 'National Socialism'? as they both seem to clearly promote racial hate and dictators among many other similarities .. its long been the case - its even the name coming out from hiding now

  8. and interesting, 9 days after emailing them confirming I refuse to have a smart meter, and requesting confirmation that they accept this - no response. Last issue i had with them took months and a formal complaint running beyond its time to get a meaningful response. Octopus must have set on some NPower staff. They not quite @NPower level yet, but seem to be heading that way fast in lack of competence if not utter maliciousness.
  9. Oh - and dont forget - under WTO RULES - NOT applying tariffs has to apply to EVERYONE who doesn't have an alternate 'deal' - and most of which existing deals will undoubtedly be cancelled if its to the other parties benefit unless the UK unilaterally drop them The UK doesn't apply tariffs as the Brexitish are incompetent - but other countries can - What a bonus for foreigners eh Brexitish? - all as obvious and stated years ago in the other thread.
  10. I see the Brexit-ish are again delaying implementing their 'grate deal' 'protecting the UKs borders' that they pressed through with the wholehearted support of MPs like smugg - who is now one of the main moaners saying this inflation raising and business destroying 'great deal' shouldn't be implemented. Of course 3 of the benefits of NOT implementing the Brexitish grate deal as the Brexitish negotiated are: 1. Less UK businesses will collapse 2. UK inflation NOT increased by 0.6% (hence fiddling the figures to us scraping NOT being in a Brexit generated recession) 3. The problems will be dumped in labours lap after the GE "Analysis by specialist credit insurance firm Allianz Trade said the removal of tariffs on the goods would reduce inflation by 0.6 percentage points, and cut import costs by close to 7 billion pounds ($8.8 billion) in nominal terms." reuters.com WWW.REUTERS.COM https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/uk-economy-grows-by-01-february-2024-04-12/ Rees-Mogg warns post-Brexit border charges could be inflationary WWW.THELONDONECONOMIC.COM According to reports, Britain faces a £2 billion post-Brexit bill on European food imports from the end of the month.
  11. .. and now $32.41 ROFL ... But still a good price for debt generating odious hot air Sounds a lot like GoBNews .. in many ways
  12. Eat your heart out @theoldrouge European politicians back ‘historic’ shake-up of migration and asylum laws WWW.INDEPENDENT.CO.UK Pact involves cutting security waiting times but also increasing numbers sent back The package of bills agreed promises to cut times for security and asylum procedures and increase returns to reduce unwanted immigration from the Middle East and Africa, a high priority on the EU’s agenda.
  13. Interesting point here to take into account with all the seeming attempts to deflect the blame onto Davey, or someone/anyone else BUT the people who have been in power for the last decade+ - apparently including Arbuthnot .. Former Post Office chief executive Paula Vennells failed to tell MPs about 16 investigated cases where the Horizon computer software had made errors more than a decade ago, the inquiry into the scandal has heard. Questioned by members of parliament in 2012, Ms Vennells said there had not been a case investigated by authorities where the software was found to be at fault. But, according to Jason Beer KC, lead counsel to the inquiry, there have been 16 reports of bugs in the software or court cases where workers were found not guilty. He asked Tory peer and long-standing advocate for victims of the Post Office scandal James Arbuthnot, who was present at the meeting, if Ms Vennells or other managers mentioned these cases, which appeared to show the software was capable of making mistakes. The former Conservative MP (James Arbuthnot) said she and her colleagues had not mentioned any of them. So - 1. Why would anyone think they didn't lie to MPs before? Inc Davey as he states 2. Why were the PO not questioned more on these claims in the decade following 2012 since it was KNOWN they were false - as Arbuthnot should have known - as his own testimony highlights? Dont get me wrong - I think Maddleson has questions to answer - and primarily every gov interface/ since .. especially since 2012, and most especially since 2015. With likelihood of actual knowledgeable cover up increasing with every year since 2012 IMO. Vennells ‘failed to tell MPs’ about 16 cases where Horizon software made errors WWW.INDEPENDENT.CO.UK ‘It was clear that the government was saying it was nothing to do with them,’ Tory peer tells inquiry
  14. and more on Wragg, who has been allowed to resign the Tory whip, rather than be fired with a loss of all (taxpayer funded) benefits (and thats just resign from the Tory party and his preferential seats on committees NOT as a taxpayer funded MP) ‘Honeytrap’ MP William Wragg accidentally reveals WiFi password during photoshoot WWW.INDEPENDENT.CO.UK Tory who admitted giving colleagues’ numbers to scammer poses for photo with security detail pinned up behind him ‘Honeytrap’ MP William Wragg accidentally reveals WiFi password during photoshoot Incompetence aside, Seems basic justice that he should be sacked with loss of all benefits and prosecuted. He quite deliberately gave MPs contact details to a clearly criminal and/or foreign power actor, and he knew and has briefed what he should have done. NO excuses.
