  1. Hello, I used my friends account to check out this site and must say I had to read an awful lot before I felt entirely comfortable with the whole thing. I had to create this new post just to encourage others to follow the advice on this website, because I did not see too many success stories in this particular part of the forum, particularly regarding GE Money. When I first contacted GE money they claimed not to have all copies of the statements going back six years. My response was to state that for any month for which they couldn't provide a statement (five months in total), I would assume they had charged me a late payment fee. When they only offered me a parital refund between the amount of the charges and the £12 fee they charge now, I sent the cheque back and applied for court through moneyclaim online that day. About a month later their lawyers replied with copies of three of the statements showing that there were no charges for those particular months and offering a full refund for the rest of the money, plus court fees (a little over £100). I wanted to put this up to encourage everyone to use the same approach with GE Money. They refuse to cooperate fully with the statements because they imagine that you will be confused and be unsure of what to do, but they buckle in the end. Good luck with your claims!
