  1. Thank you for your reply it would seem that I will go on to the end of Feb and then cheer. Just one last point it wasn't me who wanted to go on past retirement, it was them asking me to!
  2. Thanks for replies. Work conditions have now become so intolerable that I would simply just like to walk away. However they are telling me that if I do not give the 4 weeks then I will forfeit the residue of my holiday entitlement (8 days) which must be taken by the end of March. Getting 4 weeks sick leave isn't really a way to go for me.
  3. I have been at my present employers for 16 years. After reaching retirement age last year I intimated that I would like to carry working for another 2 years. However due to the many changes that have occured I feel that it would be beneficial, health wise, to retire now. Do I still have to honour the 4 weeks notice that my contract stipulates or can I just give a reasonable amount, say 2 weeks and go. Basically how much "clout" does the contract have once I pass retirement age?
  4. Sorry that you may have misinterpreted my post. At no time did I ever dream of applying for any sort of payment. The question was posed mainly to determine what sort of copyright you have on any pictures that you take and if you have copyright is there a fee to be paid for their use. Nothing to do with ambulance chasing.
  5. I recently came across an accident where someone I knew had tripped on some upraised pavement flags, fallen and was later diagnosed with 2 broken fingers. Just happened that I had my camera with me and took 6 images of the offending flags. I suggested that the person in question contact an injury lawyer, who in turn contacted me re the pics I'd taken. Without thinking any further I downloaded them and I am given to understand that the local council admitted liability due to the photo evidence submitted. Incidentally the council had repaired the above pavement by 830 the next morning. Did I have the right to charge for their use? Just wondering!
  6. The charger can retail anywhere between £40/60. Company is not a national concern so at the moment don't want to name. Have been back to them again today. At first they insisted that the 12 month warranty stood and there is nothing that can be done. I insisted that I would be writing to the makers of the charger and after much toing and froing they have agreed to contact the makers themselves and will get back to me, so, so far so good.
  7. Last July I purchased an electric golf cart, battery and battery charger and was giveh a 12 month warranty for all products. However 15 months on and the battery charger was returned and as not producing a charge. Today I have been informed that the charger is U/S and as it is now out of warranty I will have to purchase another one. I feel that although out of warranty this product should have lasted a lot longer than the 15 months. Can someone suggest what my next course of action should be. Thanking You in anticipation.
