  1. I have a bank statement showing the amount I drew out on my debit card, but how do I prove what it was for? Would the court be able to get access to the council's rent record for this person, that would show that the arrears were paid off in one lump sum.
  2. I don't know if I should be posting this here, but about 18months ago I loaned a so-called 'friend' £500 to pay off rent arrears with an agreement she could pay it back as when she could afford to.A few months later I loaned her husband £300 towards a bond on a rented housebecause they had split up (I later found out they hadn't it was just a ploy to get more money out of me). They haven't offered to pay a penny back and have changed their landline and phone numbers and also returned my letters. I contacted a DCA, after several attempts they finally managed to contact them and were told that they had no intention of paying and that they didn't owe me any money anyway. The DCA have suggested it now goes to court, as I have nothing in writing, only a verbal agreement , what are my chances of success.
  3. How do I go about posting it in the DCA section wihout having to type it all again?
  4. I originally asked hjere for advice in August,I received a letter from Mackenzie Hall on behalf of their client Eversheds who had written to me in June about a debt owed to Orange (I'm 100% certain that I've never owed any money to Orange),Eversheds were asked to send any proof they had of this debt or drop the matter as I disputed this debt. They ignored this letter and passed the debt on to Mackenzie Hall instead, I informed Mackenzie Hall that this debt was in dispute and sent them a copy of my letter to Eversheds. They have ignored this and have now sent me aletter saying that as they had received no reponse to their letter I must now make arrangements to make payments or they would sen a 'field agent' to my address in the next 7 days. My question is, knowing that the debt is in dispute should they still be sending me letters demanding payment, should they be threatening to send a field agent to my address. Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated Regards
  5. Hi, this why I've been looking for an address I can write to them about this- been a customer of Orange for about 14/15 years ( but not much longer at this rate ). I've got Orange mobile phone (which is totally different number to one Eversheds/MacKenzie Hall are chasing me for) and I've got Orange broadband so they've definitely got my phone number, account number and address on their records
  6. Thanks for the replies, I've already written letters of complaint to the OFT, Trading Standards and the Law Society about the conduct of Eversheds and Mackenzie Hall. My main concern is the lack of response from Orange, I have been a customer of theirs for 14 years and just need them to confirm that I've never had a mobile with this number or letters from them regarding this.
  7. Hi, I'm new here and need some advice/information. My wife is being chased by Eversheds and MacKenzie Hall for a debt for a mobile phone purchased from Orange in July 2002 despite being told in writing she knew nothing about this debt(she has never owned a mobile with this number and we have never lived at the address they said we were at in 2002) and disputed the debt Eversheds passed it on to MacKenzie Hall we told them the same thing - they too ignored the letter and sent a Standing Order mandate asking for her bank details and demanding the account be paid in full. Our real problem is Orange we have never had any letters or phone calls from them about any outstanding debt, my wife has sent two e-mails to Orange asking if they can throw any light on this, apart from an automated acknowledgement these e-mails have been ignored. Looking on their website the only contact details are the e-mail address and a phone number that only connects to recorded messages - you can't get thruogh to a real live person. Does anybody have an address where we can write to Orange
  8. Hi, I'm new here and could do with some advice/information. My wife is being chased by Eversheds and Mackenzie Hall for a mobile phone she supposedly bought from Orange in 2002, despite being told she'd never had a phone with that number or lived at the address they said she was living at in 2002 they have continued to write letters threatening court action etc. We have writen to the appropiate trading Standards, OFT and the Law Society complaining about the conduct of these two companies. The problem we've really got is Orange, my wife has sent them two e-mails asking if their records show this mobile number being registered in her name and if their is an outstanding debt against her name, apart from an automatic acknowledgement these e-mails have been ignored. We can't phone because it seems impossible to get through to a real live person. Does anybody know of an address where we can write to Orange, I've searched their website and can't find one, their contact details just give the email address and the phone number Sorry to ramble on, especially as it's my first post.
