The fact that she is not getting different treatment to other children is irrelevant, e.g she may need it and it not yet have been recognised. Appeal against the decision. They have a target that they have to meet on giving dla awards and rejecting awards. Appeal please !!!!

Dont know whether this will help, but the police should have a log of the call, their attendance and the result. You should be able to get a copy of this a proof that she had stolen nothing. Although the onus is on them to prove it, it may be worthwhile to get a copy. -
Teaching Assistant temp contract!!!
please return my money replied to tracyd's topic in Employment and minimum wage problems
You need to look at the terms and conditions of your contract. There may be a clause in it that allows them to end it early. Sorry not an expert in this field, but if you have a bank account or mortgage with free legal advice why not give them a ring, we often forget about these. Good luck -

There are a few professional organisations that may be able to really assist you on this Here are three I have used and found very helpful The Disability Law Service Disability Law Service, has free helpline and can sometimes take up a case without charge. Equality and Human Rights Commission - home page The old disability rights commission has amalagamated into the above. Their disability helpline was fantastic, havent used it since they merged. Disability Alliance UK (United Kingdom) Home Page Also has various help including an extremely handy yearly book on claiming benefits which gives really good tips that can mean the difference between benefit being granted or refused. Hope this really helps, ring them or email where you can. I would suggest starting with the disability law service. Good Luck -

Foggie Pete, At the last appeal I went to there were loads of documents missing which the dwp had. It was interesting that apparently they dont have to supply anything they dont want to. So when you go along, take everything possible with you. -

KJK The reason the soldier lost his benefits is because the artificial legs these days are supposed to be so good that he will be able to walk run and drive without further adaptations etc. Ive come across this before. KJK from what I have gathered over the last year is that the increase in people with disabilities versus the money the DWP have to give out dont add up. Many people with disabilities dont have the strength and determination to fight it or someone to fight their corner so the dwp dont have to pay out. I dont know whether this is true or not but I have heard that the Medical Doctors that do the industrial injury and DLA medicals are given targets to meet, so if they have already seen eg. 5 patients and their target is 2 to be allowed benefit, anyone seen after that is automatically refused. When I went for my last medical the dr had my whole benefit medical file on the desk and read it in front of me. So much for being an independant medical. I think you are doing a great job by the way. -

Spoke to Barclays. They have refunded the money to my account and have refunded the charges incurred by them taking the money. I have also sent in the letter kindly suggested on this forum. Many thanks everyone xxxx -
Oh starsky Slow down hunny The idea of OT is for you to do what is actually manageable. I went through OT a few a years ago, and pushed myself to the limit, suffering terribly for it afterwards each time. You need to pace you self and be realistic about what you can actually do as opposed to what you want to do. I receive lower level disability living allowance on which I am currently appealing but under discretionary rules I have and am entitled to a blue badge. The rulings have tightened recently but I got my new one with no problem. As from what I have read your disability levels vary from day to day, when filling in forms you need to put what you can do on a "bad day" not the best day of the week and I get the impression you are tending to detail your activity at your best. Dont worry this is quite normal and is part of the transition and acceptance between what you used to be able to do and what you can actually do. Distinguishing between the two is very difficult and you have to be very honest with yourself - and i can assure you - that bit is very hard to do. So good luck and I am here for you xxxxxx

Have you appealed?????????? You have a right to appeal if your dla is refused or reduced. And you have to really battle for it today!!!!! Last year I got refused and appealed and guess what I complained about those in wheelchairs running out of the building when the fire alarm went off. the reality is that for every genuine claimant there are those that arent even if the disability is genuine. The longer you have it the more you adapt and to them the less you need adaptations. For goodness sake put in an appeal good luck -
dont know whether you know this, but you can pay for an mri scan to be done privately. I had to pay for one a few years ago, there was a 3.5 year waiting list but as i paid privately it was done in 2 months. It cost about 300 pounds then, but much as I object to paying for what I should receive free, it was well worth the expense.
