  1. I have had the same experience with plusnet, they are the worst ISP we joined in August 2012 -, lost broadband connection for most of December and now our phone line crackles so bad no one can hear us - so we can't make calls. They are still charging us the full amount for landline rental and broadband. I want to buy out of the contract, but this would cost almost £85. So we are stuck with them for now. I have complained and hope they will at least refund the portion of our bill for landline and broadband.
  2. Hi , I am a newly disgruntled Arnold Clark customer. I would appreciate your views as to where I stand. I purchased a Honda (52), I know it's old. Things started going wrong within days. Brake calipers ( I believe critical items) needed to be replaced, they replaced them. Three in all. They sold a car with faulty brake calipers. Then it was the battery, it died (10 days after the 2 month expired. I had to buy it myself - it wasn't their responsbility they said. I was prepared to draw a line and forget all about Arnold Clark. However this morning I noticed that rear number plate was hanging off, it came loose and behind it was a large hole (rust). The new number plate put in by Arnold Clark was lowered from the location of the original plate. The only reason I could think of was to hide the rust / hole. I showed this to the sales manager and asked him whether this practice is acceptable, as it smelled and looked like deception. He did not disagree that one of his mechanics did it. They hid a defect that may well have put me off buying the car in the first place. His reply threw me, he wouldn't condemn this practice. This is an acceptable way of treating customers. Maybe just the ones who purchased cheaper models. Am I right in believeing that it ought be illegal ( I am sure it is immoral), to hide defects to ensure a sale and then ignore the consequences. Views much apprecaited. Thanks
  3. Hi There I would be gratfeul for your advice. I am in Scotland if that make a difference. Here is a summary of how I got here. I took a loan in 98/99 to consolidate other debts from Tesco/RBS. It was fine until I got into difficulties, lost job and had to sell house, etc. I do not remebre the amount of the loan. I paid a nominal amount for a while. Then the debt moved to Personal debt Services and from there to Moorcroft. I have been paying the debt since then, the amount of repayment keeps going up. They review my account, send me a letter and request that I up my repayment which I do. I had this fear of court action. Since reading this Forum, I started questioning this debt, I do owe something, but I do not know how much (lost all my paperwork). I sent Moorcroft a nice letter asking for some information ( letter attached), I did not enclose a £1. I received a reply quickly ( looks like a standard reply - attached) stating that the client cannot provide the credit agreement and asking me to contact them within 14 days with my proposals to discharge my liability, etc... They did not provide any of the information asked for in the letter. My next paymenyt is due shortly Having read a lot of the threads, I am still confused as to the best thing to do, so this request for help. Help much appreciated. 4. hi, I recently left a part time counselling course which was being funded by my local Relate service. I left for health reasons and signed a contract that I would work 3 hours a week as a volunteer once I qualified for 2 years to pay back my fees..I was being funded. I mentioned my illness at my interview last year. But the letter says we are surprised to hear you have health difficulties. I was not given a copy of the contract but it specifies if I left because of illness I would not have to re pay my fee. I have been asked to pay £2300 because the charity say they have no other way to make up the loss. Also, they need the money to fund an future trainee. I need advice! I don't have a job, I am a stay at home mum...and I don't have any savings to pay them back. My husband can't afford to pay them back as we have a low income and no extra money. I am very worried. Can they take me to court?

  6. hi, thanks for the advice...I have drafted a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) letter and was planning on sending it to Pipex....should I send one to Pipex, and the debt collector?
  7. Hi, I would love to take some action as a group of ex pipex customers! Please let me when you have a few folks on board I would relish the opportunity to take Pipex to the cleaners! regards, Thorn
  8. I had a problem with Pipex since day 1.... we joined in September 2006 a talk and broadband package. They installed the broadband but not the phone service. After 3 months, of not being billed, and no phone service. I contacted them and requested my MAC code we moved to madasafish and paid the balance of our account for the broadband minus the cost of the talk service which we did not receive. After disputing the figures for months and seeking advice from trading standards we wrote to the chief executive etc 3/4 times but received no reply (they wanted to charge us for the talk service) Finally one Indian lady from accounts accepted our payment. I thought that was the end of the saga until today !! That was back in December 2006.....fast forward to today March 27th 2008 I have received a court summons from a debt collector threatening court action and saying unless I pay now they will raise an action against me. I have no idea how they worked this out and I am not sure yet what to do. But it seems so many people have had major problems with Pipex. I guess it's time to go to CAB for some advice:)
  9. :)Thanks Rooster for you help!
