  1. Thank you very much for your time in replying, this has eased my mind, thank you.
  2. Hi, thanks for your replies, the ring is insured separately on the policy and they are only dealing with the claim when i prompt them - it seems like they are trying to get out of paying for it. I was just confused about a second adjusters visit as there is nothing more i could add to the first visit, the loss adjusters are Cunningham Lindsay if this makes any difference or anyone has had dealings with them? I am very upset as it makes me feel that insurance is not worth the paper its written on when you need it, but they're quite happy to accept premiums for the pleasure! Plus it's now 2 months since i lost the ring and am unable to get a replacement! I don't even think they have supplied the first report to the insurance company and am considering requesting a copy of it........
  3. Hi, hadn't heard anything from loss adjuster so enquired where claim was up to and now have received a letter advising i am to have a second visit from a loss adjuster, does anyone know whether this is normal or not and what it would entail? I am having to take time off work and they are asking me to have the same information ready that I provided to the first loss adjuster, thank you.
  4. Thank you for your replies, I have been emailed a confirmation letter of the visit and that there are further investigations pending! Kind regards.
  5. I hope so thank you, I've been ill since losing it and now feel worse but yes, I should wait and see. He was very certain though despite not being able to quote the caselaw he referred to.
  6. Hi, i am very upset having lost my engagement ring . The loss adjuster has just visited me and said the only problem he can forsee is the ring not being insured as it was purchased in the USA in 2005 and we don't have proof of having declared it at customs upon bringing it into the UK. He says there is statute / case law on this, but couldn't give me the details and I have google searched to no avail:confused:. Obviously Esure have accepted my premiums for this ring and have the valuation as proof of its existence and value, i have checked their policy and scrutinised their documentation but nowhere does it mention jewellery being bought abroad. I followed their procedure to the letter i.e. it is insured for accidental loss / damage and is a specified item on the policy. Can anyone please help??
  7. Hi thanks for your replies, I could kick myself as my 'Relationship Manager' closed one loan and reopened a new consolidated loan before i signed anything. unfortunately due to her constant phone calls to me at work i returned the signed agreement about a month later!! Otherwise seems they may have given me an early xmas pressie! This was obviously before i new about this site!!
  8. Hi and happy new year to everyone. My debts have spiralled out of control and i have been paying a business loan with credit cards etc I have my own business and own the premises but will be negative equity with my business loan. I have contacted several companies for advice and scoured the forum, initially i wanted to go bankrupt and walk away!! Now i may prefer an IVA although unless there's a dramatic upturn in business will still not be able to meet current business loan repayment and basicallly have been told the RBS will not re do the loan / offer more finance under any circumstances. I also work full time, hence IVA option?? I have invested all my money plus more into the business and would like to retain the premises and possibly rent out etc but as this is the first month i will not be able to make a loan repayment wondered what the procedure for repossession is / how long it takes / what to do?? The business has failed in the last 12 mths due to 2 new businesses opening up in competition and i can't afford to update premises / advertise etc so no hope really of rising from the ashes. My partner has also had finance problems and is considering IVA option, our debts are separate but we have a joint mortgage on our house, again little or no equity. Any advice would be welcome, thank you.
  9. Hi, thanks for your replies, I wrote letters to Lloyds to reclaim about £1200 charges (not including interest) but got fobbed off in responses and am therefore awaiting the test claim results before i make a court claim. I hadn't considered reclaiming charges for my credit cards, but I'm not sure it will amount to much as it was only this year i had problems with late payments. I just can't believe that having been a customer for 14 years with no problems, they've basically closed my account after I've repaid the balance.
  10. Hi, I'd like people to know my situation with my Barclaycard, just prior to Christmas!!! My partner and i recently remortgaged and I paid £10000 off my Barclaycard Visa and Mastercard a couple of months ago. Today I tried to use the Visa and couldn't so I rang their Customer Services who advised me they have reduced my credit limit from £6500 to £800, saying they've written to me yesterday to advise of this!! When i queried it, it was due to reviewing my account and there had been 7 late payments this year!! This was due to bank charges and that they couldn't fix the payment date to my pay day, although each time i rang when the payment was not made, I was advised the following month would be ok. This is noted on their system and I have escalated this to a complaint, but they will not increase my credit limit!!! For the record, I have no arrears with anything nor do I have any CCJ's, although the advisor also blamed my credit rating in this decision. I would just like to warn people that it may not be beneficial to try to maintain a good credit history and not to repay a Barclaycard unless you no longer wish to use it. Any advice would be appreciated, although I am in no doubt about having a very bleak Christmas.
