  2. I have further information regarding this stamp. It was part of a 'sheet' of stamps provided by the Royal Mail as part of the swap system. The old stamps for the new barcoded stamps. So if they are counterfeit and not a faulty scanner, then the Royal Mail definitely supplied them !. Apparently out of the 25 stamps, 18 have been used and this was the 2nd stamp (posted on the same day) that has been rejected as being counterfeit.
  3. It was one of the newer barcoded stamps. I think your thoughts could be on the money, Ethel Street. I am going to the Sorting Office tomorrow to see if they can provide further information.
  4. Not sure if this is in the right place, please move if not. Yesterday I received a 'Sorry there's a fee to be paid card' put through the letter box. I paid the fee of £5.00 online and received the item today. It was a Card from a friend. It had been posted using a 2nd class stamp. I was confused that it had attracted a not sufficient postage fee so without opening it I took it to my local post office had it weighed and put through the slot they use to test for thickness - clerk said that it should not have attracted the fee. Neither of us noticed at the time that the box ticked was for a 'Counterfeit' stamp. I googled how to tell a counterfeit and the stamp attached does not meet the criteria on the Royal Mail website. My friend has said she purchased the book of stamps from her post office, so are they selling counterfeit stamps ? How can I tell for sure as I object to paying £5.00 if this was the sorting office on a bad day or a PO money making exercise !

She also appears to be depressed. 9: The patient has been depressed since she began seeing me in 1993 10: Discharge Status – Alive, but without my permission. 11: Healthy appearing decrepit 69-year-old male, mentally alert but forgetful. 12: Patient had waffles for breakfast and anorexia for lunch. 13: She is numb from her toes down. 14: While in ER, she was examined, X-rated and sent home. 15: The skin was moist and dry. 16: Occasional, constant infrequent headaches. 17: Patient was alert and unresponsive. 18: Rectal examination revealed a normal size thyroid. 19: She stated that she had been constipated for most of her life until she got a divorce. 20: I saw your patient today, who is still under our car for physical therapy. 21: The Lab test indicated abnormal lover function. 22: Skin: somewhat pale, but present. 23: The pelvic exam will be done later on the floor. 24: Large brown stool, ambulating in the hall. 25: Patient has two teenage children but no other abnormalities. 26: When she fainted, her eyes rolled round the room. 27: The patient was in his usual state of good health until his airplane run out of gas and he crashed. 28: Between you and me, we ought to be able to get this lady pregnant. 29: She slipped on the ice and apparently her legs went in separate directions in early December. 30: Patient was seen in consultation by Dr Smith, who felt we should sit on the abdomen and I agree. 31: The patient was to have a bowel resection. However, he took a job as a stock broker instead. 32: By the time he was admitted, his rapid heart had stopped and he was feeling better.
  6. Sorry davidoneman, you do need to take some responsibility for your own actions. Just because the credit card company ups your limit, does not mean that you have to spend up to that limit !. As already advised, if you were persistently living up to the top end of the credit limit, YOU should have recognised that you had a problem and stopped spending on the card(s). You are going to have to take some action now to prevent yourself falling further into debt. Cut up the cards, prepare a budget and stick to it. If you are not going to be able to make the minimum payments, then you will need to write to the CC companies offering an amount that you can afford as already advised by dx, you can have a look at our pro rata letters to set the ball rolling.
  7. If the daughter has been paying for the pet insurance then she could simply cancel the direct debit. Unless of course she is planning on keeping the pups ! Perhaps she could have a word with the local vet being used and ask to put a 'For sale' - or 'new Home required' notice on their notice board. I would imagine that puppies would be reasonably easy to rehome/sell.
  8. As advised, do not make any hasty decisions - this is obviously a stressful situation, so seek the help of your GP and obtain a sick note for a couple of weeks. If you have been working for this company for 14 years now, it does seem unreasonable of your employer to take this stance. If performance has not been an issue previously then it does rather look as though this is being used as an excuse so you need to protect yourself. ACAS, Citizen's Advice and/or an employment solicitor will almost certainly be able to advise. IMHO, you should not resign as this could almost certainly cause you financial issues if you are going to need to claim extra benefits at a later stage.
  9. Thank you for updating your thread, I am sure it will be very useful to anyone else finding themselves in your situation. Very pleased to hear that your stress levels have reduced and the process seems pretty straightforward.
  10. Was this gift mentioned in MiL's will.. for example, did it say that you would be able to choose an item? If this was the case, then I believe you would be entitled to keep this.
  11. These are terrible.. worse than the 'knock, knock jokes my son used to plague me with lol. Good though x
  12. Have I missed something, you have admitted using the energy - despite whether or not it was your choice of supplier. Why not simply pay what you owe and then you can forget about it. !!
  13. Just a recap for my own thoughts. Son and Fiancée left a valuable ring at a Holiday park - no doubt in error. The now ex Fiancée arranged with the Holiday Park for the ring to be returned. Holiday Park used Hermes Courier company to do this. You need to establish with the Holiday Park Do they have receipts for the despatch How the item was packaged for despatch - although we should not assume - it is unbelievable that a valuable ring was simply shoved into a jiffy bag ! Who valued the ring for the despatch ? One assumes the Fiancée explained it was valuable and one would assume that even the Admin staff at the Holiday Park would not simply assume an engagement ring to be valued at £20.00 (although IMHO you should not have to pay extra insurance to the courier company for doing their job !)
  14. Ah right, my apologies. I did not check the posting dates and thought today was the 'Big' day. hopefully you wont be kept waiting too long.
