  1. Thanks it is just frustrating I have got the assets but am unable to use a portion of them which will enable me to continue my stroke recovery.
  2. Thanks I suspected as much. Frustrating I have a lot of equity tied up in the house and that would help towards my stroke recovery. My credit rating is down the pan as well. Appreciate your reply.
  3. Try and keep this short. I had a bad stroke couple of years ago. When discharged was told I would never walk again. Prior to stroke I was financially very sound . Paid off mortgage house only in my name. Had two choices be in a wheelchair have the house revamped or a second option. Lot of my family are in military who put me in contact with a genius of a Nuero physio. He had initially worked for NATO. Massive reputation. Had an assessment in which he told me he could get me back to not far of normal. it would take a lot of work off from me and would take a couple of years By then he had gone private he was very expensive but worth every penny the therapy worked . He was the real deal. slowly though my financial assets were used up . He’s still seeing me on a massive reduced rate. as I mentioned own the house with a large amount of equity. I had tough couple of years but will soon be in a position to be able to get out and about. currently my income is state pension and PIP not bad but I want to get back the missing years, be able to afford taxis, football season ticket nothing flash. couple of times I have applied for Equity Release and easily passed all the financial criteria only to hit a block. The final bit is Surveyors come round and check suitability of the house. All good. Then they checked how the house was built. I live on a decent ex council estate but it turns out when estate was originally built they were built by Reema , they main part of the house is made out of large concrete blocks then the house is built round it. Turns out there is a rare chance that the blocks which are reinforced by large iron bars would in many decades time delay I’ve been declined for equity release. Has anyone encountered this and even better know of any ER companies the would take my house on ? I have no plans to be frivolous just want to regain the last couple of years. No World Cruises or any of that just have some wiggle room with my finances. Thanks
  4. Tried that number. On hold for about 15 mins then get cut off . 5 times around every 15 mins.
  5. Thanks for reply but the problem is I can clearly explain my issue tax rebate. But I need to explain the issue verbally. They even have a list of phone numbers to help people in my position . But it does not include the option to actually speak to someone. over the last month I have successfully negotiated with OVO , Sky no catches It took a while . The only way was able to achieve it was through conversation. im doing really well but I get neurone pathway confused with forms and the like. I phoned Stepchange and Payplan and were hugely patronising and would only help if I followed their exact template. . Trouble is if you have a brain issue people assume you’re retarded. My expert treatment includes rerouting the neurone pathways and even grow new ones sounds nuts I know but he used to work for NATO. lot of my family are military
  6. Had a stroke couple of years ago. Made a decent recovery my Achilles heel is negotiating sites. I’ve spent all morning looking for help for people with issues like mine . There doesn’t appear to be a helpline. I need to speak to a human. I’ve only got some basic questions. Anyone got a decent phone number. I’ve been talking to other companies with success but the site to me seems impenetrable.
  7. Thanks people that’s what I meant. She’s refusing to divorce just to be awkward and I heard after a certain time the marriage becomes void. I’ve already got the Land Registary to sign the house over to me . I have the documents. They insist she know has no rights to the house . It is mine and my daughters and my wife has no rights over the property. Its been a traumatic decade. I’m just making sure everything is squared off.
  8. About 2012 my wife walked out on myself and my daughter and returned to the USA. Has never returned we remained married . In my naivety I didn’t go for divorce because I thought it would resurrect all the bad stuff . Ironically myself and daughter flourished. Ironically 4 years I had a bad stroke I’m far from sorted but on my way to a decent recovery. Mentally I was lucky now the only problem is I tend to get confused doing this sort of thing. The last year I have been sorting all the potential problems with success. Anyway she left 2012 ,still married and she hasn’t returned. Is there a time limit by which a marriage becomes defunct ?
  9. Well I got a letter from the land registers . Also phoned the house is mine. To quote house is mine , I can do what I wish with it. Not even my wife can have anything to do with it. During the relentless paperwork she signed it to me.
  10. I suspect a complicated one. About 5 years ago my wife left myself and my daughter. We found out (she’s a US Citizen) she had returned to the States and hooked up with an old boyfriend. She had done well for herself and the marriage was deteriorating . my daughter and myself thought it was for the best. we stayed married ( a mistake ) and kept in contact with each other. Last year with her approval I applied for the full deeds to our house which is currently being approved by the Land Registry. In my naivety I assumed that would also allow me to full financial control as well. Alas not . Apparently there has to be a financial transfer as well which my wife is prepared to do. What is it called and who would be the best people to help us do. Have I been given the right information as well ? It may seem a bizarre story but if I explained the full story it would take ages.
  11. My wife and I separated amicably about 8 years ago and She moved back to the USA . I’m in U.K. living with my daughter. We have not divorced. Wife has done well for herself and between myself and my daughter we are living comfortably. Recently I paid the mortgage off. The home is still in our joint names. My wife is prepared to relinquish her share of the house . How do I get the house put solely in my name ? Thanks
  12. Surely divorce happens and the wife is automatically entitled to half the house rather than my daughter
  13. About 20 years ago when our marriage was ok we wrote a fairly standard will which included our very young.daughter. About 10 years ago our marriage deteriorated. Personality wise but in my naivety I found out she was shoplifting, as a nurse she was even pilfering from patients. Because I worked long hours and the fact I had never committed a crime in my life I was oblivious to this until later. she is a US/U.K. citizen. About 7 years ago she told myself and my daughter she had to move to the States for a couple of months to look after an ailing relative. About a week after her going to the US she contacted my daughter saying she had a boyfriend over there and was never coming back . my daughter had the option of moving over with her mother but by then . Their relationship had collapsed as well and she chose to stay with me. We did not divorce. Can I annul the will without my wife’s permission ? And if I pass away make sure my daughter gets all my benefits ? Oh also she was arrested for theft in Texas and was tagged and put on probation.
