  1. Hi, There is not really much more can be said. All I had was a letter stating that on the 23rd April if I had not paid them by then, that they would instruct debt collectors. i do not know if they have been instructed or not. I have had no correspondence from Barnett Waddingham since 23rd March. The only reason I found out about the adverse entry was when I went to my bank to discuss something with them. I have a very good relationship with my bank, and they suggested that I look at my credit report.
  2. Hi, Thanks for your response. All correspondence I have had has been with Barnett Waddingham. There has been no mention in any letters from them stating that they are acting on behalf of anyone else. The last mail I received from them was on March 23rd. In it, it states that Barnett Waddingham has been appointed as administrator and payroll provider for the scheme. All they ask is for repayment of the pension overpayment. This was as a result of my father passing away end of November and the pension going into his account a week before his death. It was not noticed at the time and all monies in his account were used for his funeral. It was only a week or two later when I contacted Barnett Waddingham that I was informed of the overpayment. I then contacted them again explaining that there were no funds in his estate. however, there was a house that would be put on the market and when sold all debts would be paid out of that. I thought they were happy with this arrangement but since then I have received around four letters asking for the overpayment to be paid, with the last letter finishing with the statement that if the overpayment was not paid by the 23 April then they would instruct debt collectors to recover the payment. I am happy to honour his debts when the house is sold, until then I cannot afford to repay this overpayment. Thanks again for your help. Hope this extra info will help.
  3. Hi, Thanks for your reply. The only thing I use the card for is to transfer funds to a additional card that I have. I took out an additional card for a relative that lives in Poland. Every few months her company sends her to the UK to work, and while she is here she stays with me. I thought at the time it would be a good idea to get a card for her while she is here and if needed to send money to her when at home. Pockit were fully aware of all this when I applied for an additional card. She purchased some land in Poland along with her husband to build a house. I agreed to help them with funds and occasionally send her two to four hundred pounds. It's money that comes straight from my bank account onto my card, then transferred onto her card for her to use. This happens around every three to four months or so. So not an every day thing. She currently has £400 on her card that is blocked and I have £200 on mine.
  4. Thanks for your help. Was wondering if they were regulated.
  5. Thank you for your help. much appreciated, will get in touch with the credit reference agencies and request a notice of correction. Also tomorrow will contact Barnett Waddingham. Once again, thanks for your help.
  6. Hi, will try and get something when I can. I found out that they have entered details on my file when I went into my bank to see about an overdraft as with this coronavirus was having difficulty. The bank informed me that there was this marker on my file.
  7. Hi, It's no longer British Steel that runs the pension scheme. It's a company that is called Barnett Waddingham. These are the ones I have been dealing with as executor of my father's estate And these are the ones that have trashed my credit file. I'm happy to pay it once the house has been sold and funds are available. however, I cannot afford to pay it out of my own pocket and I'm unhappy about the fact that they have marked my credit file as my debt.
  8. Hi, My father passed away last November and he had a small company pension. Former British Steel. When he died I contacted all relevant companies. When I contacted his pension company I was informed that there was an overpayment on his pension of just under £800. I explained to them that there were no monies in his estate but that there was a property that would be put on the market within the next few months and then any funds owing would be paid out of that. This was acceptable to them at the time. since then, I have had letters from them stating that as they act as trustees of the pension they require payment. they have threatened me with debt collectors, which I know are toothless unless a court order has been granted. Despite writing to them, talking to them on the phone, and e mailing them, they still insist on payment. As you might be aware, during the current situation we cannot get estate agents to view the house or put it on the market. It's ready to go. My question, am I responsible for paying this debt out of my own pocket?. The funds will be there once the house is sold. And finally, this company has trashed my credit file, is there anything I can do about that?. Thanks for your help.
  9. Hi, I have a pre payment debit card with a company called Pockit. Two weeks ago I received an e mail from them stating that my account was blocked subject to them doing a review and requiring verification on the account. They asked for copies of passport with pic of me holding it and copies of utility bills, and also where I get my money from?. I e mailed them back and told them that I would not be sending them that information as that would leave me open to identity fraud. They did not require any of this information when I applied for the card and as such I feel that they do not require it now. I must state that in the two years that I have had this card this is the second review I have had from them. Last time they did not ask for as much information, and last time I told them the same thing I would not supply the info they wanted as I felt it wasn't required. In the end after around four weeks and threats of court action they lifted the block. Looking at their web site I see that there are numerous complaints about their actions, they seem to conduct reviews only when there is funds on the cards and not when there is a zero balance. They encourage people to deposit wages and benefits onto their cards and then block them from getting access to their funds with no warning. Additional, I have a secondary card with them that I applied for a friend so that I could send funds to her when needed. They have also blocked that account with funds on the card. Other than threaten court action again, is there anything else I can do to get them to lift the block and allow me access to my funds?. Looking forward to your suggestions.
  10. Thanks, I am aware of the terms and cannot see where I or my friend have breached them. I supplied them with her name, my address that she was residing at, and her dob before they even issued her with an additional card. They had this information but are now insisting on further information that she cannot give. I have asked them to refund the amounts on her card to my account as the primary cardholder and been ignored. Looking at other forums about this company it would seem that they do this to cardholders quite regularly. they encourage customers to place their wages and benefits onto their cards, then block them for weeks at a time, leaving people without any funds. What are your views on my instigating a chargeback?.
  11. Hi, Don't know if this is the right place?. If not please feel free to move it. Ok, my problem. A few months ago I applied for a pre payment Mastercard with a company called Pockit. Found it convenient and was reasonable. I also applied for an additional card for a friend that was staying at my address while studying, she is from abroad so thought it would be handy for her, I could top up her card and she could use it both here and back home. Things were going fine until she went back home, Poland. She used the card a few times with no problems, then she went on holidays to Crete, and while she was out there, I tried to top up her card via mine and found that it was rejected. I contacted Pockit to find out what the problem was and was informed that they had blocked the card as they wanted to undertake further checks on my friend. They required a copy of her passport, evidence of her residency here in the UK, copy of utility bills in her name, Where the money had come from, and evidence of earnings. Other than the passport she didn't have any of the other documentation. She stayed at my home address, so didn't have any residency proof or utility bills in her name. And the money on the card was from my account. We received no notification that there was a problem or that they were going to put a block on her card. This all came out of the blue, and left her stranded while she was away. When they blocked the card thee was over £1600 balance on her card. I have written to them stating that we cannot supply the documentation that they want other than the passport, they have refused to unblock the card or refund the monies on it. It has now been over a month. I asked them to refund the monies back on to my card as originally, it was my money to start with, they reply with until they receive the documents asked for they will not unblock the card and we cannot get access to the monies on there. I have been pondering with the idea of going to my bank and asking for a chargeback, as the monies were originally topped onto my card via my bank account before being transferred onto her card. I am in limbo and want to try and get the money returned as soon as possible. Just to reiterate, I am the primary cardholder, her card can only be used to withdraw what funds are on it that go through my card, she cannot top up her card or anything else other than through the primary card. Final point, They are asking my friend for all this information not me, my card is still active and I would have thought that if they had concerns they would have asked me or this information as i'm the primary cardholder. Thanks for your help.
  12. Hi, I'm having problems with three network. Basically, they phone me on my landline number approx twice a day and have been for the past week asking for a person that I do not know and has never lived at our address. I have asked them very politely to remove my details from their system which they promise to do and yet a couple of hours later I get yet another phone call from them.. They seem to be calling from an Indian call centre.... so... does anyone have the name and contact details of their chief exec as I fancy calling him throughout the night to let him know... see how he likes it.. cheers. Mike.
  13. Hi dx, Many thanks for your help, however, the stat interest sheet does not seem to work on my system when I try to open it it transfers into works and comes up as containing over two hundred errors, and when it does open, once I put the info in it calculates number of days elapsed wrong and does not calculate interest rate at all. Is there anything else that I can try?. Thanks Mike..
