  1. Thanks Buzby, but my point is this: I was not driving that car at that time on that road on the 3rd - the car was off the road from accident (on 2nd) until it passed it's MoT a few days later. The officer issuing the ticket cannot prove I was on the road at that time. You can have a car out of MoT as long as it is not on a public highway and it wasn't used AT ALL on the third. More to the point, if the officer was working on the 3rd, maybe there is a log of where he was at that time and date which would contradict the FP. If he was not working then how could he issue a ticket?
  2. Hi, earlier last month I had an accident and unfortuantely my car was just out of MoT. I was issued with a Fixed penalty notice for £60.00, which I tried to pay over the counter when I got paid yesterday, but can't so am now out of time with the 28 days. However on closer inspection I noticed that the accident was on the 2/4/09 and the officer has put the date as 3/4/09 on the fixed penalty - is this enforceable?
  3. These barstewards are notoriously difficult to deal with! Like the above said - watch your back! On a better note, I did eventually get a payout for my partner of just under 13k - but it wasn't easy!!!
  4. I can't help you much. The one thing I would suggest is that you contact everyone that you owe money to and try to negotiate a late payment before everything starts to bounce. These institutions are not very nice, but a lot of the poeple you speak to are human and will understand your situation - more often than not they are following guidelines. You may find that some of them are happy to just know what is going on and will be more lenient with regard to a late payment or to. The best part is that your OH has a better job to go to - far better than the circumstances he would have faced following redundancy. I hope it works out for you, I am sure it will.
  5. Hiya Pen and Darling and Els, etc,etc - just popping in to say hello. God Pen - you are a one!!! I am so pleased to see that you are going for it after all. Whoopeeee!! You can't let them get you down - not having come this far. I do think that you are going to have to be really careful from now on. I think you have caused quite a stir with LTSB and I really think they are onto your thread by now. The main reason is that you have fought quite a few unusual battles and won. They would hate for all the rest of us to start doing the same like the bank charges revolution! I must say I am tempted. I am going to apply for my OH bank statements pre six years' - I do hope I don't have to go through what you did!!!! Anyway, if it gets silly I will get in touch with the Dutch man!!!! Actually, my OH has just said he probably has a lot from those days as we were child free then and a bit more organised. LOL Anyway, best of luck Pen - Basil x
  6. Oh Pen:( you have done extremely well anyway. Maybe it is time to throw the towel in. You have to think of your sanity and health . It has been a fun old ride with you and although you have had some bad times, I feel you have gained so much (not just money). I do hope you will stay on the forum - you know a lot of stuff that could still help other people!
  7. what happened????????? You suddenly just dropped off! Pen, Pen are you ok????
  8. Blimey, hope the job is worth the wait! I can't believe how long this is all taking. What is the job - top secret 007 stuff or something?
  9. Hiya, just dropping by to catch up on things. Whilst I haven't got a claim running at the moment, I am still seething by the latest events, as I am sure you are! I find it appalling that the OFT case has allowed so many judges to stay everything. I strongly urge anyone who has the balls to do it, to fight their stay. I think this shows a very cynical attitude by the judges who in my opinion are shirking their responsibilities. A case needs to be judged on its' own merits which is why some cases had been lost - due to a poor argument. I am also livid that some judges are also thick enough to be staying claims on credit cards............ who are these idiots?
  10. Eh? Sorry am having a blonde day............ What is happening now then?
  11. Well, at least something nice came out of it.........
  12. Spent a boozy night with Ray Winstone at a wedding some years ago - he's a nice bloke......
  13. BTW was the woman with the labotomy alright?
  14. Blimey Pen! Only you could manage the drama that became your court appearance!! If someone doesn't make a film out of this it would be such a waste.......... Very nearly PMP when you added your footnote regarding the parking ticket!! As Tanzarelli said, not a good day! Oh and thanks for the info regarding 10 years' statements - that will come in very handy as I know my partner was all over the place in those four years as well (divorce, etc).
