  3. Thanks for the response. However, my problem is that Moneyclaim specifies you must enter an address in England or Wales for service of the action. Should I go ahead and give my branch address or is there another way round this?
  4. I have calculated how much RBS owe me and am just about to begin proceedings via Money Claim. Can anyone suggest which RBS address I should use? I would prefer not to use the address of my local branch but if I send it to their registered office (which presumably is in Edinburgh?) will they try to claim that the case should be heard there? If the latter, this would cause me a problem as the amount claimed is over £1,500. Any advice gratefully appreciated
  5. - Will do - I'll keep you posted as events unfold......Thanks to everyone for help and guidance etc.. I have passed on the site details to several friends all intending to take their banks on - keep up the good work! regards
  6. We will have to wait for the account info as I have no idea how much in charges we have incurred... think it runs into thousands!!! So basically we should cut to the chase and go straight to the small claims? Do we inform them of our intention to sue?
  7. Hi everyone, Just had our 2nd letter to RBOS knocked back, this is their response. We believe that our charges are fair... bla bla bla... The charges to your account must stand, therefore this is the Bank's final response to you on this matter. You may wish to seek the opinion of the FOS and the enclosed leaflet which is produced by the FOS tells you more about the scheme and how to contact them...They then go on to say that they have passed on our request for account information and this will be processed in due course. They sound very confident, what do you think?
  8. Has anyone come across the following issue with RBS? I have two credit cards with RBS and a Royalties Gold Account. One of the cards has the normal RBS rate less the discount for being a Royalties customer; the other doesn't. I contacted the RBS credit card centre to ask about the disparity and their response was that this was correct as the card with the higher rate of interest had been taken out in 1987 - ie prior to the Royalties account being set up - and therefore was not eligible for the discount! My argument that the discount should have applied from the time I became a Royalties account holder fell on stony ground - they claim older cards simply aren't eligible. Has this happened to anyone else or is anyone aware of what it actually says in the Royalties marketing literature? It's so long ago since I opened this account I confess I have no documentation and have no idea whether I am being spun a line and they really are conning me out of the discounted rate or if this is just one of those things. Any comments gratefully appreciated.
