  1. Hi everyone, My Daughter has got herself in a pickle - she is going to uni and against our advice re-signed her tenancy agreement that doesn't start till June 2018 my wife was the guarantor but she has not signed and my daughter has not paid any deposit yet. she has now fallen out with the others that she is sharing with currently and does not want to continue staying there next year after the current agreement expires in June 2018. She has been in touch with the letting agents who have told her that there is no way out since she signed unless she finds someone herself to take her place. she only did this due to the amount of emails they kept sending and they were using scare tactics to tell her that if they don't sign some one else will take the property. This and the Uni workload was stressing her so she signed it and now regrets that. is there any way out of it now as Guarantor hasn't signed and no deposit paid ? thanks for your help in advance alix2

  7. Hi Everyone, Can you please help me as I got a Parking Charge notice while I was shopping in Asda with my son who is 1. I didn’t have change for the ticket machine and by the time I sorted my son out who was kicking up a stink about the trolley I forgot to go and get the ticket. After I came out I realized I had received the ticket stuck to my window. I have approached the Store Manager who said they have nothing to do with the parking as its not owned by them (which is a load of rubbish) I also asked him for the details of the land owner and he said he does not have that information (again another fob off) then said he sees me there all the time so I must be aware that I need to buy a ticket!!!! Ok I’m a regular and you just fob me off - so much for customer appreciation!!! I have not received anything in the mail yet as it’s not 14 days since this - what is my next step? I do have the till receipt that matches the Parking Notice. Thank you so much in advance
  8. Hi I got the strangest letter ever from RBS they say they cannot find aggreement but will chase and even threaten us with default... what is the next step here is the letter Dear alix2 Re account number xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx I write with reference to your recent request under section 78 (1) to supply copies of the original agreement set out under the Consumer Credit Act. / enclose the most recent statement showing the balance outstanding and payments due, as well as copy of the current T&C's. We regret to advise that the agreement has been misfiled and despite searching our records we have been unable to locate it. Regrettably we are unable to comply with your request made under section 78 (1) of the CCA. Notwithstanding this the agreement remains valid, and we expect you to continue to meet your obligations under the agreement. We should point out that if you cease to make future payments as they fall due we will report the default to the Credit Reference Agencies. Section 78 (6) 'Unenforceable' only prevents us from pursuing recovery of the debt through the courts. I trust this clarifies the matter for you. Yours sincerely HE Bower Accounts Manager any ideas please many thanks alix2
  9. i wil chase this one up as I really feel robbed. I just cannot see how a company can charge intrest after you paid them !!!!!
  10. Hi I have a Vanquis CC and have a £750 limit I always try to pay it off so don’t accrue interest last month I paid over £700 off as I had used it a lot. When I got the statement I saw they charged me over £40 interest even though the 700+ payment was showing. I rang them and was told that the payment hit the account the day the statement was produced therefore the interest was for everything for the month. I always thought if the payment showed on the statement you only pay interest on the remaining balance. Please let me know what you think Thanks
  11. I have a CCJ on my credit file that’s about 5years old and am in no position to pay it off. Also I have changed address a few times since then and have not heard anything about it. Will this drop off in 1 more year or because it’s a ccj can it be refreshed etc ? any advice please many thanks
  12. oops forgot to say i saw the signed paper but havent got a copy of the tenancy agreement yet (dont think i will now)
  13. Can they do this :- I lost my job about 1 month ago and went to see the letting agent last week to get a copy of my tenancy agreement as I couldn’t find one and was told that the owner of the property had not signed it till a few days ago but showed me the paper and was signed till Jan 30 2008 so I thought all was well and good. I then explained my circumstances changed and I have now lost my job and will be claiming housing benefit. 2 days ago I got a letter stating that they rang the council and could not get any information. I found out that this was because it was being processed and was not at the office they rang. Today I got another letter and a form called assured short hold tenancy: Notice requiring Possession asking for the house to be vacated as the owner needs it. This is just too much of a coincidence to me but is it allowed ?? many thanks
