  1. 16.6% was the general consensus last week.
  2. Firstly, check this news out for a bit of encouragement... http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/hsbc-bank/announcement-center-alliance-leicester-bank.html
  3. I believe it is 16.6% the same as their authorised - but I was advised 15.9% by others in this forum, so that is what I'm going with. I've printed off the prelim now anyway....
  4. Hi Mike I too am claiming back contractural interest from HSBC and will be persuing it all the way. Please could you advise me as to which rate of interest you have based your calculations on and whether it is the current one or one previously published. Thanks and good luck...
  5. Hi everyone on the HSBC threads. This is my first post here as I compile my claim against the darlings. Can anyone give me any pointers to discovering HSBC's unauthorised borrowing interest rate? I've googled the subject and unless I'm mistaken I think its 16.6% - the same as the authorised rate. Their websites aren't exactly user-friendly when it comes to gleaning this info... Also, is there any way of discovering what their rate was 5 years ago when they hacked me off so much that I closed my account?
  6. Try this link BBC Radio Player hit >>15min then
  7. Thanks for the pointers, but problems still with Google spreadsheet No.5. I'm getting the "#NA did not find value 9/6/2002" in columns J and K when the amount in H estimated overdraft exceeds the amount in column I interest free overdraft e.g. H-------I------J------ K (800.00) 1300 no probs no probs (1335.00) 1300 N/A Blah N/A Blah I know this has come up before and I have tried all the Chezt suggested fixes (circa Page 40-41 this thread) to no avail. I have - Checked my dates are entered correctly in a US stylie Deleted all spare cells Checked the last Charge Date is later than the last Interest Date Drawn a bit of a blank frankly I haven't - Exported from out of google Knowingly messed with any formulae in the belief that I know what I'm doing Thrown a coffee mug at the dog in exasperation 'tho I've come close The suggestion box is well and truly open.....
  8. Ah, the mists are clearing.... I have hoarded and filed every bank statement ( 'cept one!?) for the last 21 years so n/a. Also, could you please clarify this for me as the chambers' guides don't say - from what I have gleaned from this thread, the interest date should be the last day to which that interest period applies i.e 10 Sept to 9 Oct. Sfsg... However, as I have substantially more entries for interest date and interest charged (usually one entry per month) than for penalty charged (one every few months) am I right in assuming A) that I enter an interest date and interest charged everytime it occurs on a statement over the period of my claim? And B) that these can be entered into columns F and G willy-nilly and bears no relation to what has previously been entered on the same row (penalty date, penalty charged) ? I know this question was asked previously in this thread, but it was answered in a pm so I remain ignorant. Thanks in advance...
  9. I love the spready guide for idiots. Is there anything similar for Vamps' recommended google No.5? I've scanned 2 months worth of this thread and I'm still puzzled about what to put in the "estimate of previous charges" boxes B15 C15 and D15.
  10. Thanks Marcelle I've been looking for Mindzai's spreadsheet to no avail. However, I discovered the answer to my question (p.40 "spreadsheet with interest" thread) - the formulas are not copied from google spreads to excel when you import. Best to calculate online then import to excel only for printing!!!! Over hurdle 1!!!
  11. Hi to all in RBS forum:) This is my first post 'tho I've been trawling through the forums for some days now and it's really time to start the ball rolling...
