The truecall does not beep. It does not have tapes to go wrong. It records dgitially so you can upload the files onto your computer without any fuss. At £125 (full cost) or £97 from us, it is far more functional and is far better value than anything else on the market.

Does Truecall allow 'filtering' of overseas calls at all? Some, whose numbers I know, I would wish to allow but any unknowns to 'ban' basically. Is this possible?
Is it possible to actually access the recorded messages or change numbers you need to 'ban; over the Internet and anywhere eg overseas?

If the international numbers are sending out a callerid signal then yes, you will be able to treat them the same way as national numbers. I know that when people call me from abroad, their numbers show up on my caller id or mobile screen.
I'm unable to answer the second part of your question and I have flagged it to steve4064 who has much more experience of these machines than I have.

I contacted Truecall and they responded:-
"1.On landlines in the UK, all international calls are presented without a Caller-ID so all International calls must be treated the same. You can choose to block all international calls - every international caller is played the zap message. You can also choose to accept all international calls. The default is to intercept the calls and ask the caller their name. Most overseas call centres hang up at this point.

Truecall's response contd
2.You can amend trueCall’s settings remotely a number of ways:-
Just like an answering machine, you can dial into trueCall from another phone, press ‘*’ when the welcome message is played, and then enter your PIN. This allows you to play back messages & recorded calls and make changes to trueCall’s settings (including editing the Zap and Star lists).
Alternatively you can change trueCall’s settings over the Internet and view the calls you have been receiving while you have been away."
Hope that helps

I bought trueCall just over a week ago and it works fine in recording calls etc, except there is no caller info on the display panel of my phone. I do have caller display enabled from Virgin but I wondered if anyone else has had a similar problem. Otherwise it is a great idea, but will not work for me. TrueCall were very sorry but can not help.

I'm very surprised at this reponse from Truecall - and I think that we need to get to the bottom of why the callerid won't work. Presumably this means that the callers are not being logged for their incoming numbers and also you cannot screen them or zap them. These features are essential the the Truecall system.
Please would you email me on the site contact address so that I can get some detaiuls fromm you so that I can contact Truecall directly.
Who did you speak to there?

Hi BankFodder,
Thanks for your reply. A man called Ronan has been dealing with my emails with TrueCall. He has tried sending updates through the intenet to the call box but no joy. I have asked if it could be a faulty box as it appears the non screening of callers numbers has not happened before, but I was told it cannot be faulty. I will send this similarreponse via truecall.

Hi, I have to tell you TrueCall contacted me and asked me to do a webcheck on their unit and my problem was solved.
TrueCall have been fantastic in their dealings with my problem and now everything is working great! I have no more anonymous callers and 0800 numbers simply get zapped! I recommend TrueCall to anyone.

I understand that all problems have been addressed. Truecall seem to be very responsive and deal with problems very well.
