Default Stuarto v Woolwich

Hi. My better half has just received offer of 100% refund on her charges with First Direct, so I've just posted off my S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) letter to the Woolwich.

Will keep you all up-to-date on progress.

Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for the encouragement Amanda.

Having sent the S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) letter out on 3rd April, I have now found my statements - I thought I'd dumped them but they were in the loft!

So now I know how much I'm going after: £1178 - NICE!

That total is assuming I can claim back 'Overdraft Admin Charges' some as much as £90 a time - is it OK to include these?

Do I have to wait until they respond to the S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) letter? Or should I just go onto the the Prelim letter? Will it confuse them?

Hi 'Kimmy01'. Yep, my account statements go back 6 years, 7 months.

I was wondering if I could claim back over 6 years and have just read the announcement from 'BankFodder' saying we should claim beyond six years now. Which is good news.

At what stage did you get your money back?

Can someone confirm which address I should send the Prelim letter to please?

I sent my S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) letter to Jackson House, Jackson Road, Clacton on Sea. I haven't recieved a response from them yet, but I've found my statements and am ready to send my 'request' for refund.

Should I continue writing to same address?

thanks

Thanks for that - will do.

I have a default on my credit file for this Woolwich 'Open Plan' Account - should I be asking for this to be removed also?

Thanks for all your help.

Hi. Received my list of charges on Saturday.

Total £1296. They have included charges for Returned Cheques (£27.50 per item) and Guaranteed Cheques (£28.50 per item).

My query is can I claim these charges back?

Thanks,
Stuarto

Default Re: Stuarto v Woolwich - THEY'VE PAID UP!

Just want to let people know I've got my money. Not 100% but I'm happy with the outcome.

Woolwich wrote and offered 50%, but I proposed a compromise of 80% and they paid the money straight into my old account. I had to have a new card and pin number before I could 'extract' it from the wall but I'm happy with that outcome.

It was all done with the minimum of fuss really. Added up my charges, then sent the letter asking them to pay up 'or else'. They responded saying they'll look into it, followed by their initial offer.

I would like to say "thank you" to those who've answered any of my queries. I may not have got anywhere near to the court stage but still found this forum very, very, very, helpful.

I will keep in touch to see how others are doing and am telling everyone (boring them stupid more like!) to go for it! I mention this site every time the bank charges subject comes up.

I'm off to book a holiday next week with my combined 'haul' from Intelligent Finance, The Woolwich and First Direct, approx. £1800!! Hurrah!

Stuarto

Ah stuarto

I'm pleased to hear you've got a satisfactory result. About £280 less than your preliminary asked for (?) however I assume that your individual circumstances and attitude to the process of reclaim, found this amount to be a reasonable price to fore go in favour of an immediate settlement.

Hope you have a great holiday!
