Now this is FUNNY! I think I have them on the run!

I checked my figures against the amount that Barclays paid into my account and realised that they were £47.12 short on the interest.

So, I emailed Keith Jeramiah the following:

Dear Mr Jeremiah,

I reply in response to your letter dated 15th August 2006.

Thank you for your interim payment of £2,223.23.

I have checked the figures on my claim and have found that you remain £47.12 short of full and final settlement of this case.
I have notified the Salisbury County Court that I am not willing to withdraw the action whilst this amount remains unpaid.

The figures used for this calculation are as below. I have assumed that interest has stopped at 14.08.06 and have allowed my preparation costs to remain at zero.

Claim amount * * £1,700.00
Interest @ 8% £ 350.35
Court Fees £ 120.00
Allocation Questionaire fee £ 100.00
Preparation Costs £ 0.00

Total Claim £ 2,270.35

Amount Paid * * ** * (*£2,223.23 )

Balance owing * * ** *£47.12

Please deposit this sum into my Woolwich account so that I can notify the Courts that my claim has been completely satisfied.
May I remind you that I am the Claimant in this action and, as such, only I can withdraw the claim.

Should this matter not be resolved prior to the hearing date then, of course, I shall be pursuing my preparation costs also.

I look forward to your reply,

Yours Sincerely.

I have just had this reply:

Dear barry031261
*
I am prepared to take your word for it as regards the £47.12p. I have instructed our Woolwich division to credit your account accordingly.
*
I would appreciate receiving a copy of your communication to the court.
**
Yours sincerely,
*
Keith Jeremiah

So, I thought I'd push my luck as I have another claim in for Barclaycard that is being dragged out. So I sent a further email:

Dear Mr Jeramiah,

Thank you for your satisfactory response.

I will post you a hard copy of my letter to Salisbury County Court as soon as these funds are in my account.

Whilst I have your attention, are we now in a position to obtain a similarly satisfactory settlement to:
Your Ref: KJ/LIT-030666, Court Case No. 6SB00430?

The figures below are based on todays date.

Penalty Fees £ 400.00
Interest charged £ 83.71
Interest @ 8% £ 56.47
Court Fees £ 50.00
Preparation costs £ 0.00

Total claimed £ 590.18

If this can be paid into the same Woolwich account I will notify the Court at the same time and will make a payment to the Barclaycard account to bring it up to date.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Yours Sincerely,

barry031261

I await his reply.
