hi guys, i finally sent all my letters off to the woolwich and they have now offered me 235.00 as a gesture of goodwill although i asked for 585.00 what do i do now. they said that when customers start a bank account with them terms and conditions clearly state charges etc so they believe they've done nothing wrong.how many people have taken the woolwich to court and won...all help appreciated cheers spud

Hiya

If you look through all the threads, the banks are all saying them same, but none want to actually go to court to prove that they are acting lawfully (because they can't!)

Most people accept the offer as a partial refund and then press on with their case for the remainder plus the interest.

I believe there is a letter in the template library to accept as a partial payment.

Personally I wouldnt be accepting half of what they owe me, they didnt let us off anything at anytime, so why should we?!

good luck and keep pushing!

As above, write back and say you accept their offer as an interim payment, however you will still be seeking to recover the remaining amount.

They will write back and say, sorry, that was our final offer.

You will then need to start proceedings against them.

Just write to them saying thanks for the offer but no thanks. I requested £xxxx for penalties levied on my account plus interest added to those penalties £xxx which is a total of £xxx.

If you are not prepared to credit these cleared funds to my account i will proceed with County Court action and on top of the above total will be added court fees, costs and interest under sec 69 County Courts Act 1984.

All the best
Alan
