Default contact details...

Hi i recently obtained a copy of my credit file and to my surprise i have a sum of money outstanding and default against an old Woolwich account – this is an account that i have not used for maybe 3 years and to all intents and purposes i thought i had closed it.

I moved to London 3 years ago and the day before the move i went into the branch and closed my account – i was informed there was £50 overdraft that needed to be paid back – i did this there and then and the account was a couple of pound in credit – the lady said i could close it however the cash transaction would not show on the account until midnight so it would be closed the next day and any credit would be forwarded to me – i didn’t leave a forwarding address as i didn’t have one at the time and i forgot all about it.

I’m just about to write to them to find out what’s been going on etc, but as the Woolwich no longer existing for banking customers i have no idea where to sent the letter – does anyone have any contact details?
